Re: Come clean
Not me, but I do remember Michael Beere streaking across the running track opposite Gerald Davies's Mid B flat. His wife was very pretty and was supposed to have witnessed the spectacle. Gerald played in the Masters' match against the Colts I think it was and he turned on the style once or twice and waltzed through about 8 attempted tackles. He certainly was a star at that time and CH was very lucky to have him on the staff although I seem to remember he didn't stay very long.Mid A 15 wrote:all these years later! Re: Come clean
Yes, I remember that game very well!
He must have still been in his 20s while at CH. He was also still playing for London Welsh(?) and Wales at the time, so I doubt he was ever realistically likely to stay at CH for long. I imagine it was a very friendly and mutually beneficial contract that provided him with an income while he played and gave CH some great publicity and a real rugby morale boost.
He'll be mourning the semi-final disaster now though...
