I did when I got my colours for cricket scoring

Can't imagine Hertford giving colours for that! I did it too for several years for the school and nobody rewarded me!

Unfair, he was born with that glorious hair colour, nothing he can do about it.

As was I, but my hair had the common decency to change colour and then fall out! :D

Not necessarily, my father and brothers still have good heads of hair, and just look at DBTS. In general you should look at your maternal grandfather to discover your fate.

My mum's dad had a full head of hear (pretty much) until he died in his early 80's... Take a look at a Holdsworth male and there's not a full head of hair to be seen!

I did say 'in general' My father-in-law had a good head of hair, but ma-in-laws Dad was bald as were 2 of her brothers (the other having a good head of hair) My husband and his twin are both bald and started receding around 20 years of age. All four of the next generation (the youngest being my Chris aged 21) do not seem to be losing any.

One of these appeared for sale in an auction yesterday.

http://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/aucti ... t-21856148

Estimated price was £70-£90, but the price realised was £50.

I was watching this and intended to buy, but the auction ran on too long and I had to go to a Ben Watt concert. I was a bit peeved to see that it only realised £50.

(Wondering what jtaylor paid now, or what the eBay price was)

Just noticed that the plaque didn't sell for £50, so didn't make the reserve.

It's back up on a timed auction finishing tomorrow (Sunday) if anybody is interested:

Did it sell this time? There are probably quite a few of these around as I remember them being sold on an Old Blues Day some years ago. There was also crockery for sale bearing the CH crest. I believe the crockery originated from the Infirmary (Sicker in 1960s terminology) and pieces were decorated in green and pink. I presume the different colours denoted specific wards, or separate floors perhaps, anyone what the differentiation represented? Other crockery around has the crest in blue which originates from Dining Hall.
