Re: LE
Thank you Kerren. I think the Michael Morpurgo book in question is "King of the Cloud Forests" and it's full of references to CH etc. I am guessing that he got the info from his stepfather, JE

Re: LE
Thanks Mid A. The references in the particular Michael Morpurgo book are really detailed and I'm guessing his stepfather would have given him these details. Wish I could remember the children's book in question - something about a jungle, I think!

Re: LE
From Christ's Hospital G.A.T. Allan Revised by J.E. Morpurgo (p19) Off topic slightly, does anyone know what the connection between the author Michael Morpurgo and CH is? One of his books contains a lot of references to the school with "Housey coats" etc and I believe his stepfather (J E ...

Re: Latin is a language
I did Latin O'level and think it probably has helped me to some extent ... it always used to look good on a CV! My son and daughter have both got an A in their GCSEs for Latin at CH and I think the teaching, particularly under my daughter's Old Blue Latin teacher, has been superb! Daughter number 3 ...

Re: CH Colours
CH is not quite like other schools with colours is it? One of my daughters (not at CH) has Under 11 and Under 13 colours for netball and these are in the form of a sew on badge which says, well, Netball U11 and Netball U13 :) My son received his cricket colours at CH in the summer and these are in t...

Re: Marching into lunch
My son was a drum major until he finished at CH in July and I NEVER tired of watching the band march; it is quite simply an amazing and moving sight and makes you just so proud :D My daughter also plays in it so I haven't actually seen one of them march into lunch for years! The only thing about Sat...

Barnes Mum is indeed a wonderful lady who has helped and offered help on numerous occasions ... she is a star
(Is now a good time to tell her that it poured with rain at the St Matthew's Day parade and that there are a lot of wet housies coming back on the coaches?)!!!!

... and my little darling (now a Dep) has decided to stay in London with her friends and to honour us with her presence for a few hours on Sunday :( She's just phoned from London after the St Matthew's Day Parade and Service and it poured with rain ... some nice wet Housies coming back to school mat...

Re: Anxious parents
Oooh, have got a big lump in my throat reading your posts! We are at the other end of the CH spectrum - our son finished in Grecians in the summer and our daughter has just become a Dep. Our daughter went back on Sunday night (very happily) and it was only then it hit home that our son had done his ...

Re: CH BAND AT LORD'S
Wish I'd heard it. My son says the drum majors could be clearly seen in the background while the commentators were discussing the match on Sky which I sadly don't have. Daughter was more impressed that Piers Morgan was there, especially as a group from CH had entered Britain's Got Talent and Mr Morg...
