Re: Old Blues on TV

Nately , a 100% Old Blue band now that there's just two of us left, finally made it onto the small screen last night in a feature on ITV's London Tonight about a competition to find a band to play at the Olympic handover in August 2008. It was only about 15 seconds, but combined with CH on Blue Pet...

I gave up just over a week ago, and although I've had a couple of moments when I was pretty desperate, I haven't caved in. Look out for the night sweats after three or four days as the nicotine and other bad stuff leaves your system. That should be enough to convince you you're doing the right thing...

AKAP has a good point. If anyone knows the A chord and doesn't mind getting very close to Julian and GP, we could be on to something...

Bit of both really. We've done a few gigs as a three-piece with Niall manfully coping with rhythm/lead guitar and vocals, but we always sounded better with Will on lead. However, he has finally admitted that living in Bath and rehearsing/gigging in London isn't very practical.

Lead guitarist required for Old Blues rock band

Nately, a London-based 66% Old Blue rock band, are looking for a new lead guitarist. We have our own fully-equipped studio where we rehearse a couple of times a week, plenty of gigs lined up and a healthy recording budget thanks to a stroke of luck at Cheltenham last week. If you can play, and like ...

Yep, we found a fantastic drummer back in March. Unfortunately, our drummer-retention-rate took another hit in October when he went to Australia for three months, but he's back in a couple of weeks and we've got some gigs lined up for February (Thursday 16th at the Dublin Castle in Camden and Friday...

You can do the same thing at www.last.fm except it's not restricted to supposedly US-based listeners. If you do join up, please have a listen to nately , a 75% Old Blue indie/rock band.

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Mark,

I might be able to fix you up something at the Economist Intelligence Unit (sister company of the Economist magazine). Let me know if you're interested.

Cheers,

Alex

Hey Stu, Good to hear from you, and I'll pass on your regards to Will. The website has got a bit more content on it now, including some photos of us at the Marquee. Don't be alarmed by Will's appearance, though - it's not him, as he was still in India. Also, we've got a few more gigs in April and Ma...

Bath Uni

I did Modern Languages & European Studies at Bath and had a great time. There was a lot of accomodation on campus when I was there ('92 to '96), mostly for first years and final years, but it wasn't overly cheap. The campus itself is almost laughably hideous, but the town is beautiful and has lo...

Gig details

Ridiculously late notice, I know, but nately are playing tonight (Friday 28th Jan) at the Marquee in Leicester Square, London. We're on at about 8pm and it costs £5 to get in.

Hi Ben, never been to Leicester but you make it sound quite appealing. And thanks for your offer of radio play. If you email me your address (info@nately.net) I'll send you a CD.

Cheers,

Alex

Hey Henry, yes we did play at Bath University, in the Battle of the Bands. We even got to the final, before losing out to a solo artist (battle of the bands, indeed!). But that was about 12 years ago. You must have a great memory (which worries me, as I think I still have a couple of your tapes...)....

Hi Farnaz,

That's a very kind offer! If you get a chance to listen to us on our website (http://www.nately.net) and think we're good enough, please email me an address to send a CD to (info@nately.net).

Thanks again,

Drummer required

Hey Murray, Of course we remember you. How's it going? Glad to hear you're still playing the drums. We've actually got a drummer coming in to audition next week, but if he doesn't work out, would you be interested in giving it a go? There are a couple of tracks on our website if you want hear the ki...
