Re: Innovations in Housey dress
The girls wear the long Houseycoats, the same ones as the boys wear all year, from October half term until the Easter holidays. During the summer months, on returning from the Easter holidays until the October half term, they wear a shorter, lighter weight, jacket. Girls in the UF and above wear bla...

Re: Lunch parade times
I'm going to be in the vicinity of CH this week. I'm thinking of dropping in briefly. What time is band parade these days, and what days are the full / smaller versions? Duncan Weekday band parades are at 1.15 and on a Saturday it is 12.45. The bugle band normally plays on a Tuesday and Thursday, I...

Beth has one, but not sure if she wants to hold onto it, I'll ask her.Mrs C. wrote:a bit of a long shot but...
apparently an OB is trying to get hold of one of the old collegiate style CH scarves and we wondered if anyone here had one they might be willing to part with.

Re: school photos
The new pupils who enter the school into other year groups have their photos taken around the time the new Second Form do. I agree, I would love another one of my DD too, I really think they're missing an opportunity there. Although having taken the Second Form up every year to have their's taken, I...

Re: school photos
It's usually only Second Form that have their photos taken, I agree it would be nice to make more of individual school photos and I don't know why this doesn't happen.

Re: St Matthews Day Parade
My son is in the choir and he has been told that there is early breakfast at 5.45 for the choir before departure at 6.15. ! I have a feeling they may all go straight to St Paul's by coach and only march at the end when they leave, but I may be wrong. Has anyone else found out more info? I think the...

Nope, Deps, Grecians and staff only on Grecians path. The grass in Quad is a no-no to everyone - except the band at Beating Retreat of course!CHDad wrote:My DS has always said that he cannot walk down the Grecians path (he has just finished 3rd form). Maybe the rule has changed but the tradition continues ?

Re: Could someone tell me
I had no plans to, but why, in particular? I didn't ruin it, it went back in better condition than it arrived home in too, as I sewed all the dangling hem back up. You do know I'm a matron don't you? So many uniforms have been ruined by people sticking them in the washing machine. You were ob...

Outside St Pauls to watch them arrive will be a good place, then watching them arrive at Mansion House is always a proud moment too!

Re: Could someone tell me
On the subject of dry cleaning, I took the plunge and washed her uniform this time!! I did the skirt and the jacket seperately, on an extra delicate wash cycle which is even shorter and cooler than the "Wool" wash, and used just a small amount of detergent. I hung the jacket on a hanger t...

Re: PE kit
Hi, we just went today and picked up the PE kit for our son who is starting in the second form next week. I got it home and have just finished sewing in the name tabs. THEN I noticed the washing instructions on most of it - DO NOT TUMBLE DRY - HANG UP TO DRY ONLY. Does the school do this with ALL t...

Being a Matron I'm finding this thread so amusing to read through!!! Trust me, it doesn't take long for most of the little ones to get organised!
