Re: House photos
During Easter holidays we got emailed some letters and attachments. One of them gave the web link plus user name and password, it will take you to the photos of each house.

Re: "The Blue 2012" - Oh Dear...
I received my copy today. And the first thing I noticed wasn't the way the buckles were worn etc etc, but the happy faces of the pupils. What a great photo.

Re: "The Blue 2012" - Oh Dear...
Hmmm....aren't the words 'horrified' and 'disgrace' perhaps a little bit too strong? My son's shoes do get checked and he does polish them (perhaps it varies from house to house). And as a mother of 3 boys it never fails to amaze me how they can leave the house looking immaculate but come back looki...

Re: 2013 Admissions Thread
With a letter like that, I am sure school would be very happy to discuss contents with you if you'd contact them. 11 is very young and perhaps they feel your child would be more suited to boarding life at 13? But from my understanding it can be more challenging to pass exams at 13+ ? And if you deci...

Re: 2013 Admissions Thread
I am very sorry to hear that too. I have plenty of time to worry about my next child trying for CH, in fact he may not wish to do so. But the thought is there in back of my head. Because that could be one heck of a bitter pill to swallow..... And I suppose we would want it more then we did with firs...

Re: End of term report
My son's report is on the Parent Portal. I assume that's the same for all pupils? Think it was put on by end of last week.

Re: 2013 Admissions Thread
I'm getting a bit tired of being judged for wanting to 'send my child away' like I'm doing it because I'm elitist, don't like her, can't cope or am too lazy to take care of her myself. 'I don't know how you can do it' is what I was told so many times with regards to DS going to a boarding school. M...

Re: 2013 Admissions Thread
Agree with the above replies. 'Not easy, but try to be yourself and enjoy the experience' was my advice to my DS at the time.If your children play an instrument, I think they do that during the residential and they will have an interview with one of the teachers as well. And they play football / rugb...

Re: school photos
I think they could make much more of a fundraiser thing out of school photos. Most of us find it very hard to say no to photos of our children and they are great as Christmas presents for the family. CH lends itself to produce some beautiful photographs, so I was surprised to see last year's were a ...

Re: Four weeks to half term
Lovely to have DS back home, mind you I can only describe him as semi concious, I think he is need of several days sleep! Ha yes, same here. I have learned to just let him get on with it the first couple of days. He s still in pj's pottering in his room and just comes down for food / drink. But he's...

Re: Current reading matter
If you enjoyed 'One Day', try 'Starter for Ten' by the same author. Absolutely brilliant and an easy read. I am currently reading ' the 100 year old man who climbed out of the window and disappeared'. It's a very funny and altogether different read. I think it will be this year's Christmas present t...

Re: 6 page article in today's Telegraph magazine
I enjoyed reading the article very much. Loved the photos of the boys reading. Interesting to read 'fee payers' (I assume full fee or near full fee payers) will be capped at 20% in order to maintain ethos of school. I thought that was positive, still wanting to give the opportunity to those who cann...

Re: Could someone tell me
Clothes hangers, blue tac, some envelopes stamped and with your home address on...(hint hint) Posters for on wall?
And a bit of chocolate, I was trying to be good and give all healthy stuff but ended up sending a parcel of some 'comfort' food 2 days later.
Good luck!!
