Re: Residential assessment?

Well he didn't make it - got a letter saying all the bursary-assisted places have been filled. I had thought it was a long shot for him to make it off the reserve list as he needed a full bursary and thus a full bursary child who'd been offered a place would have to have dropped out, but it's still ...

Re: Residential assessment?

Thanks Marhop, good luck to yours too - let's hope both of them get the opportunity. I read somewhere else on the forum that there were around fifteen 'reserve' places, so I guess around 20% have to drop out for all the reserves to make it. As for ranking on the list, I imagine they would try and ma...

Re: Residential assessment?

Thanks LJG - there's a lot of finger-crossing going on here... does anyone have any idea how many others make it on to the reserve list each year, and roughly what proportion eventually get offers, and when most of those offers are made? We heard today he's been placed in the sixth-worst comprehensi...

Re: Residential assessment?

Yes it's surprising more don't pop up here out of the the 800-odd(?) who applied this year - this forum comes up as the third result on Google if you search for 'Christ's Hospital'. Perhaps they lurk, or pick up the essential information and move on. We filled in the yellow form for the 'reserve lis...

Re: Residential assessment?

Sorry to hear that Moominmama - I'd vaguely wondered whether everyone got the 'you're on the waiting list' just to make kids feel better. I think certainly that it's more difficult to get in if you need a full bursary, but that's entirely understandable given the extra demand for such places. I gues...

Re: Residential assessment?

Hi - our mail arrived late this afternoon (new postie), and my lad too didn't get in but is 'on the reserve list'. It's difficult of course to know just how many are on this reserve list, and thus whether there's much chance of getting a shot if someone drops out. We too were looking for a fully ass...

Re: Real Names

I've done the same - my son's going through the assessment process for 2015 entry and while I'm sure it makes no difference I'd hate to think any comments or enquiries I made here might have an effect on the selection process...

Residential assessment?

Well he made it to the residential assessment in January. Any advice, apart from the obvious?
