Dr Jory
Hi all,
I wonder if any former CH'ers are able to recall Dr Jory at all?
If you are able to recall him at CH can you please email me on Charles.derham@verisonalaw.com
Many thanks

Re: Response from the Head Master
Presumably Charles the school has been told by the insurers to admit nothing and agree nothing in case it is construed as an admission of liability. My response will be unpopular and maybe insensitive, and I apologise unreservedly but feel the point needs to be made. The victims of course deserve a...

Re: Response from the Head Master
Basically compensation does not cover historical counselling unless it can be fully proved and costed. The issue is future treatment and that is extremely difficult to assess. There are courses of therapy but whether they work or not is a very moot point. Unlike financial loss where they look at 10...

Re: Letter to Head Master
Again Rob, I commend you courage and tenacity in ensuring that justice will prevail in these matters. Often from experience institutions and organisations do have funding and provision in place for survivors, but restrict to limited liasons and individuals. I am surprised that no effort has been mad...

Re: Roger Martin trial & verdict
Hi Rob,
Thanks for your comments and views of which hopefully clarify some innacuracies for all.
I must admit I do praise your continued support for others who have also suffered, bearing in mind, it is likely to be somewhat of an emotional burden for you.

Re: Management knowledge of the Husband/Dobbie cases
That is the tranche of IICSA I am currently involved in. I would be happy to prepare a submission for the inclusion of CH in IICSA, however, may need some assistance with some of the background info to ensure it is as complete as possible. If there is support for me in doing so, I have no issue at a...

Re: Management knowledge of the Husband/Dobbie cases
Interesting... It is not listed anywhere on IICSA so the request was not successful I presume? I think that it should be incorporated as it looks not only at the abuse but the institutional failings, hence surprised CH of their own volition made a request... I recently made an application to represe...

Re: Management knowledge of the Husband/Dobbie cases
Just a thought...but has there been any discussion as to whether CH ought to be included in the Residential Schools investigation as part of the Independent Inquiry Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) ?

Re: Letter to the Head Master
These types of claims are often pursued by way of 'no win no fee' or conditional fee agreement (CFA).We run all of our abuse litigation with this funding. There are a limited pool of firms who undertake 'abuse claims' (us included) and many larger firms on the wiki list will be insurer firms and mos...

Re: Karim's sentence hearing
Making the first sentences concurrent seems to me to be wrong and shows insufficient respect for those victims, but I suppose there are legal reasons for this? In my view Karim should atone for each victim in turn (and with a longer stretch for each). Out in five (or a bit less) and back to being t...
