A Victims/Survivor event

This is a very quick question: We are looking at an event at the school for victims, their families, freinds and colleagues to attend to form a 'line in the sand' and a reconciliation with regards to sexual abuse at the school. Do you think that a) older pupils (+16) should be allowed to attend and ...

Re: Statement of Acknowledgement from CH

Thank you for these comments. Any mediation process is about compromise. It is not the best statement but it is the best that both sides could agree on. I am deeply aware of 'another' who dismissed allegations and deliberately and wilfully misled complainants. That person was a teacher at the school...

Re: Statement of Acknowledgement from CH

Please be rest assured that the CPO involved in the Karim trial etc. will be made aware of the statement as will others who attempted to ensure that action was not taken against perpetrators and this from the entire period of 1969 - 2001. Action on this has already been undertaken. Rob

Re: Statement of Acknowledgement from CH

Thank you Julian - 5 and a half years of my life trying to get this real apology but I never gave up and nor did Chris. Perhaps to say 'in memory to Adrian Reith who was part of the process'. Rob - and thanks to so many others who contacted me and supported me through the process.

Re: Elizabeth Cairncross

I have sent the following letter to the Diocese of Bristol re Cairncross: (the spelling works on the email) Dear Sarah, I have been provided with your email address by a person who was a former pupil at Christ's Hospital School where Elizabeth Cairncross was the first CPO. He has asked that you cons...

Re: Elizabeth Cairncross

Firstly can I just thank you for those last two posts and to all who have posted on this subject and all the abuse subjects. I'm at present restricted as to what I can say but feel the aspect of those who stood by, whilst in a senior position, with regards to abuse of various sorts at CH is somethin...

Re: Burr released

No it is not standard practice for 'extended sentences' where 2/3rds must be served. It seems that it is not clear what their Honours exactly wanted in the Appeal.

As for controls post release - they are not worth the legal paper they are written on!

Burr released

Dear All, I am able to advise that Peter Burr who was initially sentenced to 48 months in prison (5th January 2018), on which was based a preliminary decision to release him on 5th January 2020 which had not allowed for his extended sentence by the Appeal Court, has been released on 20th April 2021 ...

Re: Who would you Shop?

It's a bit complicated. If there are numerous counts relating to one victim they will usually (that is the CPS) pick a few including the most serious, but also others to show the continuation/repetition and leave the rest to 'lie on file'. Where there other victims they will treat there case seperat...

Re: Who would you Shop?

I think I may have stated 100 cases sometime back. I am afraid to say if we take pupils rather than court counts I can say that at least 249 pupils were abused between 1949 and 2017. There are more. It is over a 1000 counts (thus I had two counts brought forward against Burr and one set aside). I am...

Re: Who would you Shop?

This covers the entire range of time that I have been able to look at (I decided to ignore pre WWII). The last case that I am aware of is dated Nov 2019 but a claim of a second issue Feb 2020 pre lockdown.

Can't say much more - sorry.
