Re: Letter to the Head Master
Goodness Julian you are on fire this morning. Have you had three shredded wheat? The acid test of the school's resolve is going to be when the civil claims come flooding in. If the school is paying then it will knock a big hole in the reserves. If the insurers are paying then they will want to pay ...

Re: Karim's sentence hearing
I agree Scazza but of course the modern regime has been imposed on the school which has been dragged screaming and kicking into the 21st century. It would be refreshing if former staff who knew the abusers and were colleagues of them came out and disowned them. I agree but the first part of that co...

Re: Karim's sentence hearing
And another copy & paste from the Headmaster https://www.christs-hospital.org.uk/christshospital-live/assets/File/Statement%20to%20Old%20Blues%209%20Aug%202018.pdf I prefer straighter talking but Reid's statement does infer quite a lot. Paraphrasing: " Today at CH pupil welfare is our high...

Re: Dobbie's departure
Anything less than full disclosure is conspiracy. If Shrewsbury parents were aware of Dobbies offending it would at least let them quietly check their kids were OK. Disgraceful lies. On Dobbie, this was posted before in a mistitled thread that got deleted - he visited Shrewsbury's sister school in T...

Re: Will Dobbie be defrocked?
I wonder what the French will feel about letting him to back to "Albi" his current registered address I believe? Particularly after Brexit, depending on what their immigration rules about sex-offenders entering the country? J This was mentioned before. I think the terms of probation mean ...

Re: Dr Ken Little
RIP Rick. The first i knew any support was available but frankly it should have been available to him before his death, not just for those affected afterwards. Too little, too late particularly given the background of some pupils and the pressured academic environment (let alone the abuses going on ...

Re: Will Dobbie be defrocked?
People don't always abide by the law of the land. The church is about forgiveness and once the sentence has been served is the slate clean? DBS checks should now show up his conviction but people can be manipulative and not accepting of reality. Assuming Dobie is sentenced to more than 30 months th...

Re: Will Dobbie be defrocked?
He will, almost certainly be defrocked if I read this document correctly... https://www.churchofengland.org/sites/default/files/2017-10/cdm-2003-as-amended-by-scdm-jan-2017-as-published_2.pdf I think paragraph 30 on Page 21 is most pertinent... There is an awful lot about deciding whether to impose...

Re: Over on Facebook Post by marty » Sun Jul 29, 2018 10:07 pm Very disturbing but eloquent witness statement re Peter Ball. CH & others get a mention at paragraph 14. https://www.iicsa.org.uk/key-documents/ ... 000328.pdf The redacted school is Lancing. Is the school redacted to not identify t...

I don't recall there being any such comment (but my memory is quite poor!). I think we'd be less concerned if the school had suggested a way forward.

Re: A day by the seaside (aka Husband's folly)
During sentencing someone mentioned a prison just for older paedophiles and I found this informative but slightly terrifying piece from the BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-32085076 11,000 sex offenders in prison equates to about 15 more bespoke prisons like Whatton! I guess its in everyone'...

Ah, sod it. The mods can delete if required  The comments were in response to a post about the convictions and that the defendants had requested limits on the media reporting. 3 comments in total: “Wow” “Irrelevant now I know, but given the climate chances of unbiased press reporting are zero...

Re: A day by the seaside (aka Husband's folly)
I'd like to read it. If its something she's put into the public domain there can be little harm unless it disparage Husbands victims or demean his crimes?
