Re: Update on Support Service
Couldn't resist popping that through Chat GPT. :D I know. I'm an idiot. Sorry. It's not me. It's the modern world. Now that we've shared the Acknowledgement Statement, a friendly group of victims/Old Blues is working together (with the help of Lia Shimada, an independent mediator) to create a Suppor...

Re: Here's a hypothetical
Hello! It's been a while. Life. Blah blah. When thoughts of CH cross my mind, I end up back here. It's a spot where I can mull over the mix of memories – the good, the tough, and the downright disturbing. After reading the entire thread, there are some real food-for-thought moments in there. What I ...

Re: Here's a hypothetical
I'm going to take a controversial view here: much of this is bullshit. I was there in Maine A as a dep in 1984/85 and as a grecian in 1985/86. There simply was not a culture of beating people up because they weren't "acting in the spirit of the house". Nobody gave a toss about such ideas,...

Re: Dobbie sentencing hearing
Ironically, I came back to this forum because it was the only place that was actually talking openly and honestly about MY experiences of Christ's Hospital in the 1980s. I respect every one of you for covering the reality of this school and what went on there. I'm glad that there is no rose tinted, ...

Re: Michael Porteous
I think it's a case of scratch the surface, and more and more will surface.
That school was not right, for a very long time. It was systemic, and I'm sure more and more will come out over the next couple of years as to just how deep the rabbit hole went.

Re: Here's a hypothetical
Can I just say. My original post was written as an hypothetical. Could we sue the school for giving us a substandard education? Due to it being compromised by paedophile grooming rings that tainted a number of us' experiences of the school. Could we claim back the fees our parents paid, due to incom...

Here's a hypothetical
So. Bit of background.. I was in Maine A - From 1984-86, until I was essentially bullied out of the school. (In my opinion) To cover the forum legally. All of what follows is just my subjective opinion. In a journalistic sense. It could be fiction. It might well just be musings, or a fictional essay...

RIP James Herbertson
James sadly committed suicide last month. He was hit by a train at Crawley station on the 11th April. My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time for them. He was a good friend whilst I was at school and sadly we lost touch soon after I left. I don't have a great deal of further informati...
