Probably the Prosecution wanted to wait until tomorrow after all the legal submissions.

Re: Drugs in sport

In the 1920s through to the 50s, training for more than 2-3 hours a day would have been regarded as cheating. Once it became acceptable to train full-time, people had to look for another behavioural manifestation to which they could apply the term. Frankly I think 'professional sport' is an oxymoro...

Re: Trial of Gary William Dobbie

I am thinking of going. If anyone else is, let me know. I’ve never sat in a public gallery before. Is there anything I need to know? As I recall, Court 4 at Hove Crown Court is quite small with only a few seats for the public. No gallery as such, so arrive early. You will obviously be searched, ( f...

Re: Trial of Gary William Dobbie

I have just been updated by those in the know. The trial is likely to last 4-5 days and Dobbie will be taken to court every day and in all probability will have been moved to HMP Lewes to keep the cost down.

Re: Trial of Gary William Dobbie

I imagine Dobbie will appear via a video-link from which ever establishment he is currently relaxing in.

However, whatever the outcome on Tuesday, I should be able to find out pretty quickly.

Re: Anyone else who hated being at CH ?

Reading this, and other threads confirms my views that the ethos and general running of CH changed dramatically after the tenure of C.M.E. Seaman . For better or worse, I leave you to decide for yourself. My wife, Jan , of well over 45 years often calls me a hard, cold and emotionless b@stard which ...

So I think the point is, Freaky, take what you're given and make the most of it.

You to the left and me to the right.

Re: What Doesn't Happen At CH These Days?

My understanding is that there is far less alcohol on a Saturday night as the house parents have breathalysers - no Grecians’ club either I LOVE IT PLUM ! Breathalysers at CH. Are they often used, and if so, what are the consequences ? 35 mg being the driving limit, is there a limit for pupils ?

Yes it was. Jonathan Davies went on to be Head of History at King Edward's Birmingham. His speciality was devising history re-enactment games which he has continued into retirement. https://www.schoolstogether.org/projects/living-history/ As someone who has studied WWII in great detail, I can say t...

Re: Is 26% Full-Fee Paying Pupils Too High?

Thanks yet again David, I was never academically brilliant. but I did learn discipline if nothing else at CH and as a ' deprived ' child left school with a fantastic grounding for life. Two daughters, four grand-children later, AND a Sapphire wedding anniversary this weekend, AND , God willing a GR...
