Re: Anyone interested in an Old Blues group in Scandinavia?

Hei!

Only just saw this.

I'm in Turku, Finland. There are a few OBs dotted around the country. We met for a meal a few years back but nothing since.

If anything's happening, feel free to share.

Re: Open letter to Old Blues from CH Treasurer and Chairman

Just to say, "Auntie Kate", that my Mum (Frances Grogan) is following this topic but is unable to login and reply! I've been following this topic on Facebook, too and sharing relevant links with her every now & then. She's having some technical issues but it should be sorted soon and t...

Re: Where have all the ladies gone?

... and the real answer to the question is Facebook!

There is a very active CH Ladies page... for CH Ladies only - sorry boys!

There are a number of CH pages, though, open to all and sundry..

Re: Where have all the ladies gone?

Mum (Fjgrogan) has asked me to post on her behalf. She's been trying, unsuccessfully, to login and comment but her password has gone astray. After numerous failed attempts, she was asked an additional CH-style security question which is blatantly for those at Horsham and would not be known by Hertfo...

Re: Changing Clocks

Sorry - this is definitely off topic, but .......... Katharine's tongue on cheek comment produced an instant flashback to the preparation for my daughter's wedding reception in her back garden; five of us 'girls' - all Hertford Old Girls - were busy setting up, including all the electrical stuff, w...

Re: Barnes House Photos

So, I was sitting in the pub with Keith Battarbee last night (as you do) after watching NTLive Macbeth at the local cinema and we were trying to explain the school uniform to someone... I Googled on my smart phone (again, as you do!) and this page came up! Keith was able to point out several people ...

Re: Finnish Old Blues - FOBs?

We got there in the end! The inaugural gathering of the Finland Old Blues was a lovely St Matthew's Day lunch at Kuparipaja Restaurant in Fiskars, an artisan village in South Finland. http://i769.photobucket.com/albums/xx335/mvgrogan/Finnish%20Old%20Blues/IMG_1919.jpg L-R Peter Herring BaB & ThA...

Things are really looking up... Ed is back at work, the family have moved back into their home, the blog has been followed all over the world with nearly 10,000 visitors in just 6 months AND Luis has been speaking at the House of Commons! Have a look at the blog for more information. http://oknak.wo...

Re: Walking the TransPennine Challenge for CR Mirfield

This is an extract of an email I received this from Keith last weekend, in fact the same day we met up for a beer at the medieval market, here in Turku! Here, after a week’s delay, is a report on my TransPennine Challenge walk from Manchester to Sheffield across Midsummer weekend, 22-23 June. Well, ...

Unfortunately, it's not all good news... the tenant has refused to leave, despite being offered alternative accommodation by the council. The story was in the local paper and now in the Daily Mail. More positive thoughts, prayers and healing vibes required.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...

Eddie Goncalves (Gonk)

Eddie was one of the first Housey Boys I ever met... we wrote to each other for a while when I was at Hertford and he was at Horsham and discovered that we lived not too far from each other in SW London. We have remained firm (if distant) friends ever since. I am including here the link to his curre...
