Surely this icon of the science dept merits a thread of his own. To this day I can still remember that "A true fruit is a ripened carpel and nothing else" & that if any one mentions Nitric acid you must immediately shout "Oxidising agent".

As was the "tradition" at the time, I sold mine on my last day for some paltry sum. Now realise that it was a rather beautiful piece of hallmarked silver artistry!
