Re: A post on behalf of one of the Dobbie/Husband victims

To the author of the statement and to other victims. Thank you for coming forwards. In doing that you not only affect your own life in moving forwards, but you directly help every other victim of abuse. I might not know you personally but I hold you in my heart and I sincerely hope that you are able...

Re: Husband & Dobbie - VERDICTS

The last of these is going to cost money. So let me suggest how it could be done in a way that could send a powerful message that for CH transforming lives is more important than its proud historical traditions. The school owns a collection of antique silver http://www.chmuseum.org.uk/authenticated...

Re: Husband & Dobbie - VERDICTS

Does anyone know why the press have not referred to Dobbie as the Chaplain, just as ‘teacher’ or ‘housemaster’? One of the complainants reported her abuse by JAH to ‘the Chaplain’ but it was never taken any further. Why haven’t they made the link? [reinstated by Julian from elsewhere. The answer has...

Re: Husband & Dobbie - VERDICTS

As with others, the trials have brought me back here after a few years absence from the forum. I was both Hertford and Horsham 1983-1990. Karim, Dobbie and Husband all taught me. Karim came as a surprise, but not the others. And yes that is JAH in the Pickering photo. A couple of things from my pers...

Re: Should the forum be behind a registration wall?

There should be an enquiry. This was endemic. During my time at CH: ... My chaplain was abusing multiple people, and the link between him and Bishop Ball merits further investigation. This is already online somewhere. I find it hard to understand why no-one has picked this up. Who is going to pick ...

I'm saying this now the trials are over and guilty verdicts returned. It is my opinion and I am entitled to it. I think the writing and publication of this article was nothing less than a down-right bl**dy awful and cynical attempt to manoeuvre some positive press up the search engines. The current...

Re: Husband & Dobbie - VERDICTS

From the DM article:
"At one of the gatherings, a victim recalls a man who also attended as a guest rating the boys in order of their attractiveness, to Dobbie's 'delight'."

Who is this man?

....and I'm sure Husband most definitely will. After all, he's the only one with a cat in hell's chance.
What are his chances for appeal?

Re: Should the forum be behind a registration wall?

I think the CH administration is using legal claims as excuses to prevent discussion and the tarnishing of CH's reputation. I think you're right. If those in the know had taken the correct steps in the first place, at least CH could to say yes, it happened, we found out, we acted. The reputation no...

Re: Should the forum be behind a registration wall?

Ok. I prefer discussion to be open. And in the case of child sexual abuse, keeping it under the radar enabled these men and others to commit the crimes they have been convicted of, and enabled the school to keep circulating unsuitable people in working with children. The abuse is one issue. Institut...
