Will do. Opening a new topic as I have had a response to my letter.

Re: Letter to Head Master
Hi Cstergerlewis
Interesting about the scout camp in '84. Don't suppose there is any chance of saying who the scouts masters were attending? You make more than an interesting point but I'll come back to that.
Thanks
Rob

Re: Letter to Head Master
Hi Bob Thanks for this - but I thought he had one named after his parents prep school? Anyway I have found two people who remember Burr from the boats at Napton. One was a former landlord of The Folly (a good pub right next to the canal and the flight of locks - Napton Flight). He remembers Burr bec...

Re: Letter to Head Master
Hayden does not appear in the Blue Book '72 - 73. Burr no longer appears in it for '75 - 76. It is believed that he was removed with a god reference for striking a boy. The Rev Atkinson is in it for '72 - '73 along with Rev Robson as senior Chaplain. They are both still there in '78 - '79.'s. I beli...

You are not getting in the way - you are making a very valuable contribution - so don't just shut and go away - you are better than that and you know it.

Re: Letter to Head Master
Vilified You are completely missing the point. No one, least I, is suggesting that you did anything other than go on the boat. What you did do is provide cover for others in the sense of normality to the boat and the trips. Not much happened on the boat - at least not on the one day trips - other th...

Re: Letter to Head Master - the boat
So leaving Hayden aside the question of the narrow boat(s) is interesting. I am going to be very careful with names here well no just how I phrase things. I will leave John to edit it but for safety it is said 'Without Prejudice'. The first boat was called The Empress of Blanding(s). It was a joint ...

Re: Letter to Head Master
Ok just one answer tonight and the other tomorrow - that's a good deal as I am knackered. In the early 1970's (pre Mich term 1972) a master was 'removed' or suddenly left the school. He drove a white jag. This was Hayden. The reason was (and there does not have to be a discussion as I now know it is...

Hi John
Please do not be worried - I am going to push on - questions must be answered just to respect those who are unable to ask them.

Re: Letter to Head Master
I'm fine - tired and mentally exhausted but very determined and progress is now being made. But thank you for your concern. I just have a bad gut feeling that not all of the worms are out of the woodwork. Hayden is an issue for me as it's in my time but I am concerned with others (also from my time ...

Re: Letter to Head Master
Wurzel I've found them and will send an email. Thank you so much. I didn't even know they existed - but I still expect CH itself to provide some money to them. This may be the most important breakthrough - a little beacon of light into what for me has become a murky and mysterious, deep and dark swa...

Re: Letter to Head Master
Wurzel - YES, YES, YES
This is exactly what I am suggesting - sorry I can't think of every way of doing things, a bit too much on my plate!
How do I contact them? Is it the board that runs CHOBA?
Help please!

Re: Letter to Head Master
Hi postwarblue Thank you for your reply - you are absolutely right - pre 1967 it would have been a criminal offence if a teacher had known that abuse was being committed and not reported it - this really concerned the Homosexuality laws of the time which were abolished along with a raft of supportin...

Re: Letter to Head Master
Thank you DazedandConfused and Mid A 15 - I think I've got that right! What a lot of people don't understand is that it is far more complicated than it seems. What went on in the 60's, 70's and 80's is a complicated web of intrigue. What went on in the 90's is just - well it's unbelievable - it simp...
