I well remember 'The Trunk' purchased from John Lewis in London along with all the other requirements. Very sturdy and shipped each way separately by rail. It was stored term time in the trunk room in the Tube. I think pocket money was 30 bob a term and was managed by R A Hewitt, dep h/m of Coleridg...

I don't recall the jazz band of the 50's.

The Gene Simmons story is certainly true. It was televised and a OB who used to be a regular contributor on here was prominent in the production. He is now a member of The Cloth.

I don't think any pop band resulted.

Bob (Robert) Rae Staff, Deputy Head 53-90 appears in the Obituary section.

I know J.H. remembers Rocker well as I do. He taught us both.

No ! I was fine ! I had already decided this was to be my last term at CH. I had already been offered an interview with Surrey Plod, so didn't really give a toss !
