Re: Cricket coach ?

I am just recovering from watching Saturday's rugby [' Scotland were robbed ' … … ' Farrell should have ben red-carded' ] by reading Stephen Chalke's book Runs in the Memory .On pp.57-71 there is an account of Lancashire v. Northamptonshire, August 1953. Opening the bowling for Northants with Frank...

Coincidentally an article mentioning Rupert Sheldrake in this week's Catholic Herald.

Re: Music Lessons - not a pupil

I would recommend the Samuel Applebaum Stringbuilder books series for starting, but very young they would need to be explained by an adult with a modicum of music knowledge. I am trying (OK Freaky, we all know!) to learn to play the guitar left by my late son who played in a Manchester group; any s...

Re: Does anyone know the school latin motto?

Welcome to the forum Kittypuss.

Kerren Simmonds sadly passed away a few years ago and is missed both on this forum and in the CH Community generally.

Re: Best wishes

May I add my wish that everybody has a Happy and Peaceful Christmas and New Year.

Let's hope that there is a satisfactory resolution to the evils of the past, discussed elsewhere on this forum, for all the victims during 2019 and that nothing similar ever occurs again.

Re: Old Blue County cricketers

He just was not given sufficient opportunities by Sussex, Andy, so his decision is a wise one, I feel. I'm inclined to agree. Archer, Jordan, Garton and Weiss all appear to be ahead of him in the Sussex pecking order it seems to me as a Kent supporter looking in. I believe Gloucestershire have lost...

I can't quite believe that the Conservative and UNIONIST Party has set in train the break-up of the UK. Cameron & May may go down together as the worst ever PMs. Brexit is a narrowly English obsession.
Not quite. Wales also voted 'LEAVE.'

Re: Wendy Fryer

How many other CH masters married infirmary nurses? I can only think of one 'almost' example: Peter Brotherton called his marriage off at the last minute. An indecently late minute, in the view of many. Tom Keeley married dietician Belinda. JE Denison (?spelling) married Nurse Mc Morran (again ? sp...

Condolences to their son, Tim, who was at CH at the same time as me if he reads this. I believe there may have been a younger son too but am not 100% sure.

Re: The Old Blue 2018

If you asked my opinion on a variety of social issues, you would probably be surprised at how reactionary they are, and I too have serious reservations about self-conscious diversity-mongers. However, the most serious problem facing mainly Europe, but other parts of the world too, is nationalism, a...

Here in this part of Wales we see a lot of flags, the Red Dragon, of course and in recent years that has been joined by St David’s Cross, yellow upright cross in black, and also Owain Glyndwr’s banner see https://l7.alamy.com/zooms/6efa74a090dc40679abbff457d52fa80/flying-the-owain-glyndr-banner-out...
