In the early Seventies it used to hang in the Infirmary day room.

Re: Kissing Practice

I once saw a bullfinch. Twelve feet long, it was.

On another occasion I posed as the Turkish Ambassador and opened a hydro-electric dam on the summit of Ben Nevis.

Hope this helps!

Re: CH Under Queen Blooody Mary's Regime?

Soon their rejoicing was turned to fear. In August, 1553, they assembled at Aldgate t...

Contemporary CH celebrities

How about a contemporary list of CH celebrities? There's Jason Flemyng, who left Mid A in the mid-80's and is quite an accomplished actor with many films and TV under his belt (e.g Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrells, Snatch, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Primeval etc etc) :) Two others who've pla...

Do other people know about this blog about Old Blues?

Author's identity fairly obvious, I think, but he asks us not to mention his real name, so I shan't. Hopefully anyone who comments here will show a similar restraint!

Have a look though - interesting…

Re: Search for Watercolour or print of Christ's Hospital

Dear Lillian,

Another option might be a picture by Charles Brierley-Howes, a former Christ's Hospital master who has invented a technique for deriving paintings from photographs and has 35 such images of CH for sale. Go to http://www.hybrid-artworks.com and click on "Christ's Hospital".

School rules

In my time (early and middle Seventies) the rules were carefully concealed. When I was a junior, a rather selective document called 'An Interpretation of School Rules for Use in Junior Houses' was put in the junior house Quiet Rooms. Apart from that we were kept in the dark throughout our careers. T...
