Re: I.A.R. Christie, Lamb A 1956-63

Pop quiz: which family had the most brothers at CH? In my day, the Savages. 3 (or 4?). Also in your day 3 Farnfields. I was in Maine A in my first year with 3 Pratts (name not nature), Graham, Robin and Martin, and they had an older brother apparently before my time. There were also (3 I think ) Pr...

Re: R.I.P. Colin Fleetcroft Col A 1958 - 1966

CT Fleetcroft was 1st XV captain when I started in September 1965. I have a vivid memory, when still feeling homesick shortly after starting, of watching the 1st XV under Fleetcroft one Saturday afternoon then later that evening attending an orchestral concert in Big School where, in complete contra...

RIP Graham Enderby 62-71

I was sorry to read in the CHOBA Newsletter that Graham Enderby has passed away. He and I were in Maine A together for a couple of years. I didn't have a great deal to do with him as he was a bit older but he was always amiable and friendly when our paths did cross. However, it seems he went on to m...

Re: Writing letters home

I agree with LongGone that letter writing took place on a Sunday morning after Chapel, probably a Maine A thing. I came across some of my old letters when helping to sort through my late mother's possessions. It was a strange feeling reading them after all this time. I've hung onto them but I've no ...

Must be new danger concerns, then... Not much of a steeplechase/cross country if it's just a few laps around Big Side - reminds of the old Sunday morning school drills. reminds me of the "mile" punishment "mile" punishment...??? Back in the Dark Ages, when sejintenej and I were ...

On the same theme but different person was it ever determined whether or not 'the man with the white jaguar' was still alive?

That name brings back memories.
Little bald headed bloke wearing a brown coat in the wardrobe is how I remember him.

On the actual topic of Milk, 'loringa' has described some elements that I recall it from my time. 'Nice' biscuits were particularly coveted.

I picked this up from Old Blues, and after lot of faffing on my phone have managed to copy it to CH Ladies. I have no comments myself but as you say others may have. Thanks for posting Mary. Good to hear from you, despite the possible negative circumstances, I hope all is well with you and yours.

Re: Dr Jory

I'm not on FaceBook so I can't help there. I know Mary (English Angel) is, is anyone still in touch with her? I have emailed Charles. I also did a search here for the name Jory and I was right the doctor was called that. There are some of Angela's vivid descriptions of her encounters with him! Ther...

Hi all, I wonder if any former CH'ers are able to recall Dr Jory at all? If you are able to recall him at CH can you please email me on Charles.derham@verisonalaw.com Many thanks Charles Dr Jory was still at Hertford in 1983-84, two years before the merger. Is there any way of publicising this amon...

Re: Relationships - Grecian / UF

Also true in employment. Because you didn't get an A, B, C, D, ....grade in GCE O level I knew of companies who would not even interview you. They were too thick to understand that grades came in with GCSE - no GCSEs - no interview. Umm - not strictly true. From 1975 GCE O Levels were graded A to E...
