I think the OB who rowed in the Boat-race and became President of CUBC was Dingle. Any further info? Yes, Rodney Dingle rowed in the 1952 Boat Race. He's commemorated here - b...

Re: Time flies
I remember 3 of the 4 staff in LHA when I started and I remember those that joined in the following 2 years. But I can't for the life of me remember who had the flat at the back of the house when I started. The four staff were Dickie Dawe, Chris Nicholson, Pete Webb and P G Williams. The flat was o...

Re: An early 20th century CH puzzle
Francis (“Fred”) Haselhust (no “r”) died at CH before retirement, while he was still teaching and senior housemaster of Th A in the early 1950s. If he was then aged 64, say, it seems unlikely he could have been at CH in 1925. Not sure I quite follow you here, Martin. If Haselhust was aged about 64 ...

Re: An early 20th century CH puzzle
One possible candidate (three syllables, begins with H) might be Jack Hood-Phillips , who taught at CH for one term (Lent 1925) as a postgraduate student-in-training and set up the CH Scout troop, which suggests a particular involvement with junior boys. Fifty years later he was an Almoner. Another ...

General Election: Old Blue candidates
I see Stephen White (Middleton A 1968-75, Governor) is Liberal Democrat candidate for Bishop Auckland, while John Perry (Lamb A 1961-69) is UKIP candidate for Havant. Do we know of any others?
