I'm not sure that my lifelong hatred of sport was started at CH. I just find the whole affair so dull. People can't believe it when you say you don't support a football team. In fact I actually dislike football so much that I don't even watch it when England are playing. I am predisposed to watching...

I think it did used to be a problem, although I never really encountered it that badly. I remember once being spat on by some people at CH station but other than that it seemed to be restricted to just name calling. Of course this all stopped when we didn't have to wear Housey!

Saturday Nights

How does everyone remember (or not) Saturday nights throughout their time at CH?

I also watch it every time it's on TV! Absolutley brilliant film, but a bit surreal!

I think the best teachers were the ones who were able to get "sidetracked" into something far more interesting than the lesson in hand and still ended up teaching a useful lesson!

The Leaving Service was first 'bastardized' in my year due to its 'overly depressing' nature... We lost the psalm and Nunc Dimittis - probably two of the most beautiful settings... However, many people cried - it is still a very emotional service. I certainly did.... I don't think I did you know. I...

Well, I'd like to come to The Bax but find myself stuck in India! I'll see if I can't drink myself a pint of King and Barnes in celebration.

I think marching into lunch became a bit strange after they introduced the cafeteria service at lunch time. It wasn't as though everyone even sat down together properly any more.

I am ashamed to admit (not), that I have many drunken experiences at CH. My particular favourite which I have recently recounted to a friend was on the night of the rock concert on the UF. It started with twelve cans of Heineken. I was removed from the sports centre by Mr Poulton and then proceded t...

Oh the shame - I still have towels, pillow cases and hockey socks with my name tags on them  My mum sewed them on too well for me to take them off when I no longer needed them. (admittedly they are now my old, spare towels and rarely see the light of day - but still  ) Me too; there's n...

I remember having a really good laugh with him when I helped out with the entrance exams.

I wait with interest to see the new copy of The Blue. It must in some ways be a thankless task trying to create a magazine which is all things to all people! I remember from my time at CH, especially enjoying the house notes and the Theatre/Scouts scetions (things which were relevant to me) Yes ther...
