Re: School Dinners In Present Times.

My son seems to be less fussy these days, he'll eat mince now! which opens up a huge amount of meals at home, especially as his brothers fave meal is spag bol. Now I'm not sure whether this is due to the fact he is always hungry, or the fact he is taking food tech and he's been making his own bologn...

Re: calling Matron!

la la la. they didn't offer me the post starting in Jan, but were so impressed that they have offered me a position in another boys house starting in sept. Which is much better timing for me as ds2 will have started yr 7 and I needn't worry so much about childcare :wine:

Re: calling Matron!

That was a really hard interview - I think my lack of experience clearly showed! Never mind (school wasn't half as nice as CH  )

Re: calling Matron!

It's a co ed school, but the boarding house is boys, 13-18.
I wouldn't have a clue about girls! I'm so nervous, because I would really like this job. (even though the term times aren't the same as CH  and I would never be able to drop my son off at the beginning of term :( )

calling Matron!

Help!! I'm in a bit of a panic as I've got an interview as a boarding matron (non residential). I have zero experience, apart form having a teenage son at boarding school, so I'm not quite sure why I've been called :? Anyway, does anyone have any views on what makes a good matron, and any other advi...

Re: 2014 Admissions

I'm very surprised, but pleased for my ds2. It's hard having an older brother who is very clever. However I'm missing my ds1 so much, I was kind of hoping for a rejection!

I was also waiting! But as much as ds2 wants to go, we've always known it was a long shot. Still he did the tests without batting an eyelid :D

Re: 2014 Admissions

We're in the morning! I suspect though most of the morning will be spent in the car park reading my book, as I have to wait until 11am when son 1 finishes for half term, and then have to wait around for another hour and a half before collecting son no2 from the assessment

Re: Sunday Visits at CH

I don't think there is a 'policy' as such. We usually take our son out for lunch, once in every 3 week block. Although he did come home for the day 9.30 - 7 last time. I always inform the housemaster (or ask politely  ) via email before Wednesday of the week I want to take him out.
