Re: A post on behalf of one of the Dobbie/Husband victims
Thank you for posting this. The amount of courage and determination you've shown to see this through is truly amazing and the personal toll you've paid is on a scale I can barely comprehend. To echo other's words, this should never have happened to you or anyone else. There is a deep-felt sorrow tha...

Re: Husband & Dobbie - VERDICTS
Things have changed a lot since my time there then. The only security I remember was a night-watchman who, as long as you didn't try to run when he saw you, was usually happy to have a chat and would remind you to check the doors were locked when you went back to house. Probably should have gotten i...

Re: Who Knew What?
I'd find it hard to believe that staff, especially ones who'd been there for a long time, would have been completely unaware. Even if they'd just heard rumours. As for students, I guess it depends on how naive they were and how much contact they had with staff members outside of being taught by them...

Re: James Andrew Husband, Pickering Town Council
It could also be laziness from the council because they haven't read the full report yet and just released that as a generic statement. I live in York and the local press coverage so far was 1 article on Thursday, so I wouldn't be surprised if it takes the weekend for the council to catch on. Swift ...

Re: Brexit electoral commision report
My understanding is that as the referendum was officially run as an advisory poll it wasn't required to be run by the rules (and oversight) of a formal election. Once politicians got the result they wanted they declared it 'the will of the people (TM)' and it went through parliament. So while the fu...

Re: Husband & Dobbie - VERDICTS
It's a combination of Jim and Richard's posts that sum up how I feel about this. There's the full gamut of emotions (mostly anger TBH) that come with the realisation that at least one (probably more) of the victims was someone I knew. I don't know their name(s), but given the dates and charges, it's...

Re: James Andrew Husband, Pickering Town Council
I'm guessing it means they're trying to find a legal way of putting as much distance between themselves and him, something which most likely includes making sure he gets as little money from them for his tenure as legally possible and scrubbing as much of it from legal/written memory as they can. No...

Re: Should the forum be behind a registration wall?
Really? Nope, at least not in my experience. During my time at CH I spent a year overseas (a long and not very interesting story) where I went to a day school. Well, to be precise, two day schools (a longer and even more uninteresting story). To be fair, there were a number of sleazy teachers in th...

Re: The trial of James Andrew Husband and Gary Dobbie
I signed up because of this thread. I found my way here after trying to find out more about an article about Karim's trial that had been sent to me by a friend who had recognised the name of my old school. Where google leads, I follow. Bakunin, we were in the same year apparently. My memory of my ti...
