Was this Vikki Hatton before? I think she taugt me briefly Medieval History (at the same time as Husband  ) and had filled in for Gripper Davies who went to Cranleigh? Yes it was. Jonathan Davies went on to be Head of History at King Edward's Birmingham. His speciality was devising history re...

Re: All this is incredibly sad
CH Policies On Line. I am amazed. There must be an entire department devoted to writing increasingly complicated and ever more detailed instructions. Oh yes. And they are changed in line with ever changing government directions every year. And all staff have to reread them every year. And swear tha...

the lower risks from not sleeping in the dorms, dont underestimate just having some privacy and a secure space. Look, I totally accept your point about privacy and a secure space. I wouldn't have survived in a boarding school. But there was actually a battle between the school and CH teacher parent...

I had to smile when I heard that at an Old Blues' Golf meeting that ERM had teamed up with Ken Grimshaw in setting up a school in the Far East. It might be true but you could knock me down with a feather if it was....

Re: The Governorship Of CH
Without minimising the harm done to you...
Is it not possible to say that every governor of every boarding school, and probably every private school, before, say, 2000 was negligent?

Am I right to think that he had already given up the house when he left?
Did he leave mid-year or at the end of the school year?

Re: Why a teacher DOES NOT have to report abuse
FIrst I'd like to apologize to anyone on this threat to whom I have caused offence. Having said that my problems with this thread were as follows: 1) Current statutory regulations make it a requirement of all teachers to snitch on each other if a child's safety is at stake, on pain of dismissal. See...

Re: Community Service/Action Romania Recollections
Hi Kate,
Great Nom de Plume BTW.
I have definitely seen pictures, if not a video, of the incredible relationship you formed with that child.
Vikki is missed but never forgotten.
You were part of something special. I'm glad it helped to shape your experiences and outlook on life.
Best,
Tim
