Re: prison releases
Burr is the only offender who had a local press who covered his conviction by speaking to those who knew him, and publicising the conviction in his home town. Karim bizarrely had a number of defenders in what I can only describe as the 'elite squash club' fraternity. Webb and Dobbie both lived in Fr...

Re: Here's a hypothetical
McCall's name keeps coming up. He appears to have either died or gone abroad. One can't help thinking he will be happy to be as elusive as Lord Lucan. McCall is living in South Africa. I have this on the authority of the Police, when I reported him for sexual assault a couple of years ago If enough...

Re: Bishop Ball documentary BBC2 2100 TONIGHT
I remember reading with interest the report of his caution in one of the broadsheets in 1993. It was sympathetically reported with mischievous novices being blamed for him being treated very unfairly. He confirmed me and I was prepared by Dobbie and Porteous. I recall one house communion Ball took ...

Re: Tom Lawson: the interview
This should probably go in a Thread called, "Promises CH made but never completed." The Hertford Avenue seems to have gone the way of the replacement for the CH Club Room. David Miller and I are probably the only CHC committee members on this forum who remember the promise. CHC had a club...

Former teacher, Tom Snook
HI. Just seeing if anyone remembers this teacher, or knows who he's up to know. Used to teach 'CDT' (Craft, Design and Technology) in the 1990s, and left, but returned to sailing holidays with the Scouts with Shippen and possibly Burr.

Re: CH Letter re support for abuse survivors
I think that the letter is encouraging. Here are the things that worry me: I believe that Simon Reid was a teacher at the school in the 1990s - and as others have noted - there was knowledge of things going on among the staff in the school in the 1990s. We also know that there must have been knowle...

Re: Letter to Head Master
Thanks Rob, vey interesting Does anyone know Hayden's full name, dates etc. When did he leave CH and did he teach elsewhere? Is he still alive. Who is Reverend Atkinson? Were these trips before or after Burr left CH? Did people know why he had left? We have talked on the forum about Webb's departure...

Re: Roger Martin trial & verdict
Thank you all It is good to see that perhaps you have decided not to argue so much! I have written a letter to Simon Reid & Chris Steine which I have decided should be put onto the forum site. It is long and directional. For me the question remains - why on earth was it allowed to go on for suc...

Re: Roger Martin - trial
As I leave the scene, which I gladly do now, a final reminder as to why I involved myself in this highly unpleasant 'exchange of views' in the first place: 1. To quash vicious scurrilous speculation as to my reasons for leaving CH, which were contemptible and deeply offensive; 2. To put on record m...

Re: Roger Martin - trial
Presumably the boy needed treatment for his perforated ear drum and so reported to the sicker. Yes, but he chose to name the teacher. Probably because the incident described didn't involved the power dynamic of some of the incidents which peel were convicted of in quite the same way. I suspect to g...
