I saw the programme but will miss the remainder as I will be abroad. Anyone know where I can get a copy? A few comments. I may have misheard but thought someone said they had a music scholarship. If so, there was no such thing in my day, when you paid for lessons unless you were in the band. Hence l...

I was always bad at recognising people by their right ear. Do you have recollections of a raid we made when in our escape we ran across a new table tennis table that was still on the floor? I think Maine A got some of our breeches at some stage and it was a return visit, led by Arthur Parker and Geo...

I stand corrected. Its just that I saw no older boys whom I might have recognised, and although my memory fails on detail, I thought the prep were the only ones to have a master accompany them when they marched in. I had expected to see Geoff Fordham or Lloyd in the line up, although maybe they were...

I assume the 1966 photo was Michaelmas term, which was the first term that Maine and Barnes were junior Houses. Up to the summer of 1966 there were still the remnants of the mixed house still in Barnes and Maine

Not sure where this came from, one of the hand me downs for the OB editor.
Anyone recognisable?

Good idea, but as I mentioned elsewhere, the CH Club had copies going back to the 1890's, all bound, and I believe there are also copies in the library. They cover two shelves, so to transfer them from editor to editor would be quite weighty. What would be a good project is to get them all scanned, ...

In what was the CH Club room at CH, there are bound copies of all the Blues going back to almost the beginning, so if anyone needs to see them, they are available.

Seeing the photo of the station reminds me that a film was made there, in 1965?
Does anyone remember it?

Jane was a first time contestant on the $65,000 quiz show, where you have to answer questions to win the cash prize. Lady luck had smiled in her favor, as Jane had gained a substantial lead over her opponents. She even managed to win the game, but unfortunately, time had run out before the show's ho...

I was surprised not to see this on this erudite site. This is rather long but well worth reading - trust me! The following is supposedly an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with ...

Mass nudity

I must be getting a touch of the selective memories, as I have no recollection of not using a swimming costume whilst learning to swim. I remember classes taking place at midday and having to do five lengths and dive in, the small pool had water in it then, as well as having to open my eyes under wa...

The Old Blue

First the easy bit. I prefer electronic submissions as all I do is read them, then ensure that they are in Word format before putting them all together and sending them off to someone who puts them in a Quark programmme and sends me a pdf for review. So send any letters, articles etc to either CH, a...

I love this diversity of opinion but we all have our own experiences and work it out in different ways. I went back to CH in my first year because my brother was there, but after that it was a good 20 years before I returned. Bricks and mortar only create a feeling that you recognise the place, what...

The Old Blue

Surprisingly, the Blue has been going for over 100 years and Old Blue participation for almost as long, all based around the interest in what was going on at CH and what OB's were up to. At times it has been used for Sports club results, meetings of other OB based societies but this has tended to be...
