Re: A website like no other

Yes I agree the CH [official] forum stuff seems to have disappeared (not that there were many postings).

Re: St Matthews Day Parade

JR It is because they are all atending a service at St Pauls afterwards to commemorate 460 years of CH. Unfortunately there are no spare tickets for the service for Parents, however I shall go up to see the whole school marching.

Re: Could someone tell me

We nearly forgot his housey which would have been interesting! Apart from that we seem to have found everything, this absolutely guarantees I will get a phone all tomorrow to tell me about the one really important thing we have forgotten........

Re: Just checking....shoes

Yes that's what we do - half a size too big with insoles then take the insoles out after a while. So far we have only needed two pairs of shoes and DS is just starting 3rd year. At his previous schools my son destroyed his school shoes in no time, however the DMs do seem to last ver well indeed.

Re: PE kit

We haven't had any problems with the Kukri stuff, indeed it is lasting well. However does anyone know how I can get a few new items, the school website form suggests it should have been submitted in April! I will try the thrift shop of course .

Re: Less than a week to go!

My son has become a teenager over the summer, in age as well as attitude ! Therefore I no longer see him in quite the same sweet light as I used to! Mind you he can still have his moments (when he is loveable). I shall still miss him though. However I am fortunate in being fairly local so can visit ...

Less than a week to go!

I can't believe the summer hols have gone so fast! Mind you it does seem an awfully long time ago when I picked DS up at the end of term. I asked my son the other day whether he was looking forward to going back to school and he gave an enthusiastic yes! He said it is great to be doing something dif...

Re: laptops

My son had my old laptop when he was in the 3rd form. However I think he hardly used it for school work at all so I would not worry too much. Whether things will change over time so laptops are used more I dont know.

Re: New Bursary Assessments

My sons 3rd term at Ch he did the same. Fourth term was a bit better and the 5th and 6th terms he really worked hard. So I wouldn't worry too much.

Re: results

She returns to the sixth form for a year to do some retakes to try and better her grades. John do you mean that she is staying on for a 3rd year in the 6th form to do the re takes? I only ask because my daughter (not at CH) has not done nearly as well on her AS levels as hoped. Unless she makes a r...

Re: Olympics trip

Well the tickets are nearly sold out so fingers crossed they will. I thought it was a great shame that the olympic torch could not be kept burning until the paralympics was over. This may not be the way it has been done in the past but GB could have tried to change that.

Re: Olympics trip

Yay One of the matches the school are watching is the Men's Hockey Bronze playoffs. Thanks to their beating by the Netherlands last night, Team GB are playing in the playoffs :D I have flags ready and am ever so slightly jealous of DS Yes I'm jealous as well! No they aren't going in uniform, which ...
