Re: Old Blues Day, 2012

I'm very glad lessons were learned, Kerren. I'm sure you would rather it hadn't happened in the first place, but hopefully the situation has been redeemed at least in part by the prompt and comprehensive reaction.

Re: School Prospectus

Incidently, the CH Association is looking for new Committee members ! Any takers ? We have been here before and the previous exchanges should put most good people off. Now, of course if you are an a**e licking social climber then ........... Having been the OB editor for almost 10 years, and conseq...

Re: Siblings in different Houses

The practice at Hertford was that sisters were not allowed to be in the same house, though the older sister could choose the house of the younger one. We had several sets of twins: Faith and Rosemary Morgan Su and Ann Bonfanti Wendy and Barbara Jones and probably others, both before and after my time.

Re: Old Blues Day, 2012

Salut les gars (et les filles) I am tiptoeing rather cautiously onto this forum, indeed any forum, for the first time. It feels a bit like gate-crashing a south-coast, midweek afternoon bridge club. Or possibly entering a small country church during a Sunday morning service. Thus risking disturbing...

Re: Aspects of Housey 1984-90

Wonderful to see so much of Hertford again - although it was a few years after my time, nevertheless the uniforms, buildings, and several of the staff brought back so many memories.

Is it ok with both of you if I use some of your comments when compiling an obit for Michael Carrington for the next issue of The Old Blue?

C 3 iii (c) Shelley wood, the path along the Arun -- access only with verbal permission on each occasion. Actually, an uncharacteristic slip-up by Seaman. He meant not 'verbal' but 'oral' . (The 'path along the Arun' presumably included the Pill Box, my first encounter with grossly obscene graffiti...

Re: Wonderful Sign

Slightly different topic, but I love the sign outside the Albion in Chester "No children - family hostile". It's a very un-PC sort of place - the sign also says "no designer drinks, shots, or poofs and tarts drinks", and there's a sign on the bar that says "This week's guest...

Fisherman's Friends are still around, Mary. I've never tried the original version, but the aniseed ones (in the yellow packets) sustained me for several months when I gave up smoking many years ago.
