Re: Who Knew What?
What with all this talk of 'the school knew, but did nothing', my thoughts have turned to a bearded house-tutor who in the second half of the 1970s doubled as the c/o of the then-new Navy limb of the CCF. Whatever awful thing it was he did, he was expelled from the school staff post-haste, leaving a...

Re: Another charge
Like I say, the entire school knew. Boys from both Barnes A and Barnes B attended the all-nude House Bath sessions, which had a specific name I believe, coined by Roger Martin and hinting at the raciness of the sessions. It's all factual and it's already in the public arena. No allegations are neces...

Re: Another charge
I can't say this surprises me. Recently I almost said on this web forum that If Roger Martin were still alive, he'd be shaking in his shoes right now , but actually I had it in my head that he'd passed away. Looks like his number's up, then: him and his all-nude House Baths sessions and showering al...

Re: A day by the seaside (aka Husband's folly)
I don't know whether this observation has been made already, but in case it hasn't: For the victim to have had to go through life being repeatedly confronted with the word husband ("Do you have a husband?", "Have you met my husband?", "Has anyone seen my husband?" etc.)...

Re: The hearing
But no actual date of birth known, then. Okay.
Let's not forget that his sons are OBs and may well be members of this web community. They must be feeling pretty devastated today, so let's spare them a thought on that score.

Re: The hearing
Many thanks for feeding us the facts, Richard. Very much appreciated. It'd be interesting to know what Husband has told his own immediate family up until this point. Has he always assured them of his complete innocence and do they now consider him to have been wrongfully imprisoned? Will they theref...

Re: Curious
After Webb was kicked out, did any of the staff keep in touch with him? As I remember it, all-round good bloke Chris Bomber-Nicholson was a close friend of his during his time at the school, so it'd be fascinating to know whether they remained friends after Webb's disgrace. In fact, it'd be fascinat...

Why Do OBs Not Field a Team in the Arthurian League?
Being sort of backward, I'd never heard of the Arthurian League until today, though I have no doubt at all that the deeply sad sport-crazed nerds amongst us will already be well aware of the said football league. According to Wikipedia, it's an English association football league for teams consistin...

Aah, happy days. A balmy summer's day in 1968 and not a paedophile in sight...... so far as we know.

Re: James Andrew Husband, Pickering Town Council
Ten out of ten for sheer front though, Andrew Husband. The guy was still blogging re. Pickering and being a thoroughly good sort to all appearances well into this year on behalf of the town. Heck, the guy even delivered a lecture on the history of Pickering War Memorial Hall back in January; pretty ...

Re: Husband & Dobbie - VERDICTS
I bet they postpone it when the day comes and you end up sitting in a seedy hotel room for another ten days in the sweltering heat, beating the flies off with a rolled-up newspaper while the wallpaper unpeels itself. I get the impression that it's that kind of court.
