Re: New Victim comes forward
I'll let you know more tomorrow - but the person has come forward to the police. The school is simply irrelevant.

New Victim comes forward
Dear All I will not be flavour of the month but a further victim of sexual abuse at CH has come forward. This once again may stop any press on the matter of CH. I have deep reservations on this. But it is what it is. I know no details - who the accused is or when. I suggest that you do not speculate...

Re: Agenda for meeting on 13th Sept & statements
OK so not two hours: These are the topics to be discussed - you'll get full details about one minute after I have passed them to CH! That should actually be by Wednesday next. UNDERSTANDING COMMUNICATION PAST SAFEGUARDING: Responsibilities Employment & Dismissal Head Masters (Teachers) The Chapl...

Agenda for meeting on 13th Sept & statements
Hi All I think that I told you all that there will be a further meeting with the Redress Committee of CH on 13th September. I am unable to give you the agenda which I have set just yet as it needs to go to CH first. Within it there are a substantial number of questions and you will see all of this i...

Re: IICSA - Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse
Not quite true There are two further phases of IICSA in this particular part of the inquiry. They can choose not to cover a specific case study. However, if a significant number of persons has requested this should happen of a particular institution they can be held in contempt of the rules of the I...

Re: IICSA - Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse
Yup - if there is a current court case that involves CH they would not want to look at CH as it could interfere with the Criminal proceedings - however there may be a way round this.
I'll come back on this shortly.

Re: IICSA - Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse
Thank you Marty & Dazed&C What Marty has written is pretty much what is needed - short and simple. Interesting about Ampleforth & Downside. I can't remember which one, but at one of them they introduced safeguarding only to find the safeguarding officer, a priest, being caught doing some...

IICSA - Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse
Dear All The IICSA inquiry into Residential Independent Schools (Public Schools) will start Phase II in September. Phase I looked at 'Closed Schools' such as Sherbourne Prep and Music Schools. They will now look at the mainstream Public Schools. Simon Reid has already written to IICSA (with the appr...

Re: Response from the Head Master
Trying to follow all of the threads - firstly all victims of sexual abuse can remain anonymous UNLESS they choose to break that - in my case I did and just as well or you lot wouldn't be having the debate that you are! To break anonymity has severe consequential issues. Your name is out there as wel...

Re: Response from the Head Master
Thanks all
There were house choirs and we had a competition each Mich term. I had to conduct I think twice and performed once.
But this is not what I am looking at.
I will come back to you on this.

Re: Response from the Head Master
Basically compensation does not cover historical counselling unless it can be fully proved and costed. The issue is future treatment and that is extremely difficult to assess. There are courses of therapy but whether they work or not is a very moot point. Unlike financial loss where they look at 10 ...
