Re: Bishop Ball documentary BBC2 2100 TONIGHT

Well I watched it yesterday, and loads of issues running round my head - again I emphasise that I was lucky and never suffered from him or others at CH so cannot even start to view it from the perspectives of those who suffered. But a couple of points: Well done (with a note of sarcasm) to whomever...

Re: Ken Grimshaw

I remember you well KHG as one of my house tutors for two years when you first arrived at the school. You were down to earth and did what you could to integrate yourself into school life, albeit you were somewhat uncomfortable refereeing rugby matches given your football upbringing. To me you were o...

Re: Relationships - Grecian / UF

The school had some curious double standards.

Pupils were expelled while staff were either discretely moved on. Or there was a cover up.

Re: Did anyone know?

You cannot assault pupils. Whatever the circumstances. We have a very self serving account from Durrant. On that account alone, he should never have been allowed to teach again. With 35+ years of listening to criminals (and it was a criminal act) minimising their actions, I rarely believe a word th...

With 35+ years of listening to criminals (and it was a criminal act) minimising their actions, I rarely believe a word they say. I'm guessing your talents led you in the direction of the prosecution rather than the defence. For the sake of defendants, I certainly hope so. No. I defend. It isn't my ...

Re: Did anyone know?

Any teacher who assaults a pupil should never teach again. Durrant was moved on with a reference which should never have happened.

Re: Bursaries Shmursaries

I received the same begging letter.

Last Friday I was one of a number of OBs who went to the school to attend before the Redress Committee.

The attitude of the Treasurer made absolutely sure that I will never give the school a penny.

Re: Agenda for meeting on 13th Sept & statements

So a bit of a wasted trip than, Richard ? I look forward to many texts over the weekend for me to mull over. Not wasted JR but the school still has lessons to learn. I was a little surprised to hear a banker pontificating (wrongly) about the intricacies of charity law. The school should just do the...

Re: Agenda for meeting on 13th Sept & statements

An interesting couple of hours with the wrongly names Redress Committee who do not understand that where the behaviour of staff has damaged people that it should pay for the consequential medical treatment. The school's insurers appear to have accepted responsibility but are trying to beat down the ...

Re: New Victim comes forward

Any claims in litigation will be defended and paid by the insurers. So school will be told not to do anything that could compromise the insurers' position, such as pay for Counselling. So I find it difficult to see exactly how the school can "reach out" to the victims. A cup of tea and pla...

I cannot find any press report of Webb's Court appearance in 2015.

Can anyone point me to anything?

Rob, don't give up the fight. You are doing a magnificent job.

The school has failed you all and continues to do so.
