Re: Any Senior Grecians or School Monitors out there
I would never dream of telling a revered OB to s** off and also a revered member of the Forum! Actually I can't say being SG was a blessing. I was SG for lent and summer terms, so missed out on the preceeding Michaelmas term (Oxbridge guy was SG). When I look back at it, I would have preferred to ha...

Any Senior Grecians or School Monitors out there
Wondering whether you have any good anecdotes or comments about life on dais and having toast for breakfast? One of my biggest stories would be that actor guy, Jason Flemyng, being caught stealing at a Horsham newsagents. Harry Spurrier, 2nd master at the time, called me in to his house to discuss e...

Re: Favourite teacher
I left in 1984 (the penultimate all male year). Tim left for a year in US but came back and then as you say was in Southampton but me too knows not where. He seems to be Head at Scarborough for well over a decade now. Anyway he has his place amongst other teahcer greats and thanks to vonny at least ...

Re: BRITISH OPEN GOLF
I think you are right but I double checked and found this. My bust! Outside the UK, the tournament is generally called the "British Open", in part to distinguish the tournament from another of the four majors that has an 'open' format, the U.S. Open, but mainly because other nations with s...

BRITISH OPEN GOLF
So now that Wimbledon is behind us, we can all look forward to the British Open currently on its second day at Royal Birkdale. pretty nasty conditions though, but look who is on top of the leaderboard...the Great White himself...Greg Norman. He must be getting a helping hand from his new wife, Mrs C...

But the ties do give it awy, don't you think, Vonny? He was a colourful member of staff.
By the way does anyone know where I can find a current staff list for CH? There is nothing on the school website...

Re: Old Blue in Queen's Birthday Honours
Roy was House Captain of Peele A and one of my School Monitors (1983-1984). great guy and his brother Ian was also at the school. I also remember Roy's Mum working later on in the Counting House. A real CH family based in Warnham I think.

Re: Favourite teacher
I have discovered that Tim Kirkup is now the Head Master at Scarborough College. I think he must have left CH a couple of years after returning from his one year sabbatical in US in 1984-1985... As for him having sisters at Hertford that's a good question. I don't remenber him saying anything about ...
