Re: Swine Flu.

I have had the oink oink virus, took the Tamiflu - read all the stuff they give with it - you are not contagious until your symptoms appear - wow! Now how many folk did they infect to get that statement? For me it was pretty rough - Alot of sleep, pain killers, paracetamol, and touch and go as to th...

Re: I'm an immigrant too!

Jude I may well share your views on the fact that immigration control in the UK has been too weak but I do think any debate should be based on fact. Are you sure that your neighbours are "illegal immigrants" see http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/about-us/news/blocking-illegal-benefits or are t...

Re: Does anyone on this forum go to church?

I don't go to Church per se - but I do go to Shule (Jewish Synagogue) reasonably regularly, and I practice Kosher in my home, and observe as much as I can on Shabbat - it's a far cry from days of CH, being confirmed etc - but I think it was "the thing to do" at about 14, and being in Senio...

Re: We have adopted.........................

Not quite the same I know but I'm very aware that our animals are very sensitive to emotions. Our first Beardie Razzle used to leave home if Mick and I ever argued or even raised our voices. It was quite embarrassing because she would always go to my friend Jenny's house about half a mine away and ...

Re: I'm an immigrant too!

I don't know what would happen to millions of us in the UK if the BNP got into power - how many generations do you have to have born in the UK (does the BNP hold against Scottish, Welsh and Cornish????) to stay here - the only thing I don't like is that this country is overfull with illegal immigran...

Re: I'm an immigrant too!

I am an immigrant too.... My biological father is Cornish (no comments please!) My biological mother was born in France, as were my maternal grandmother, however my great grandmother was born in Germany - they were all Jewish - possibly my Great grandfather is Polish - so where would I go to???? :oo...

Re: We have adopted.........................

cats are incredibly sensitive to lots of things - mine know when I have exhausted myself and literally PIN me to the bed in an effort to stop me getting up! They then "herd" me back to bed! Now and again they bounce on my bladder (not the best place for me in the morning!) which is a "...

Re: We have adopted.........................

I rescued 2 kittens last November from a dreadful environment (4 year old child kept picking them up from anypart of their body - ie ears, tail, etc and flinging them around and letting go) plus a dog that wanted to eat them, and the carpet (mega cringe here) was black and sticky from never being cl...

Re: Clocks change

Well Whilst trying to change the darn clock it fell on the floor, as did the pin it was held to the wall with (new houses only have plaster board!) so it took me over an hour to sort that out - which in reality means I could have left it there!! Lets start a petition to keep the clocks the same - GM...

Re: Carol Concert 2009

Thanks to Julian, and Margaret I have now purchased 2 tickets for my friends and I will allow Adrian to put me wherever he feels I might be of use! (still have 2 1/2 octaves from the original 3 octaves!) So no one I know or who is in here is going to be singing? That could be a problem I might end u...

Re: Clocks change

we all went to school in the dark! in more than one way! I used to go to work in the dark, not see daylight, and come home in the dark - today with all the street lighting etc they still can't stop people doing awful things, so why the clock change? I will go and look at the paragraph Mary, but I st...
