Re: Did anyone know?

(JT EDITED, as disputed what was said in meeting mentioned by Rob - Julian, 19/8/21) The point being missed is that it was not and still is not a Statutory requirement for a Teacher to report abuse activity that he/she is aware of to any authority at all and they can not face a charge of failure to...

Re: Ben Breakwell convicted of abuse

Actually it is more Marple than either: Breakwell was taught by Husband only briefly (Husband covered another). It is likely that he may have been groomed by Husband and/or Dobbie. I am not certain that he knew Karim but he would have known about Karim's behaviour. In all the research that I have do...

Re: Release of Roger Martin

Many thanks for this and I totally agree that there are safeguards on this matter (provided Cairncross isn't involved)! However, i have two examples where the legal procedures have fallen short: Burr was sentenced to 42 months and increased on the day to 48 months. After his case was sent to the App...

Re: Elizabeth Cairncross

Two letters have been sent to the Bishop of Bristol concerning the suitability of Cairncross to hold her latest appointment in the Cathedral both of which are powerful - one especially. She is no longer Chair of Governors at Salisbury Cathedral School. I think she is still a Governor at the Cornish ...

Release of Roger Martin

Just to advise that Roger Martin is due for release on 4th July 2021 and as this falls on a weekend he will be released on Friday 2nd July 2021. He will be under restrictions and has been placed on the Sexual Offenders Register. I should say that many consider the SOR a rather useless tool as there ...

Release Dates - please note

Dear All I thought that it might be the appropriate time to remind people that some of the perpetrators of ‘sexual’ abuse at CH are due for release from prison. As I understand it these are the dates: Webb: March 11th 2021 Martin: July 2021 Burr: May 2022 Karim: April 2023 Dobbie: July 2024 Husband:...

Re: Webb and sexual abuse at CH

The schools response is what it is. I will say that they have been 'somewhat lax' in their support of the police. There will come a time when you will know all the details of how CH behaved both in the past and in recent times. That time is not now but it will be, I hope, by 2022.

Webb and sexual abuse at CH

Hi All I haven't posted for a long time. Can I firstly say that the victim in the current case contacted me as the response to his allegations by CH was not of the best. I guess you all know me by now - and you will be aware that the latest result of the Courts was to once again find Webb guilty. I ...

Elizabeth Cairncross

Dear All I have now spent some three years looking at sexual abuse at CH in Horsham. Whilst I was a sexual abuse victim of Peter Burr, I have tried to look at abuse across a much wider period. It will probably be impossible for anyone to be able to explain the abuse that occurred to me in my period ...

Re: Aiglon College

Loringa, clearly you have not followed the Karim, Husband and Dobbie cases, or I suspect the other cases of sexual abuse at CH. Sillett and Cairncross are fundamentally involved of covering up sexual abuse activities. This is admitted in Court. Caircross, also, has provided evidence that she sent 'h...

Re: Here's a hypothetical

A WARNING TO ALL If allegations against a perpetrator are advertised either on this site or in the press it can have an influence on whether the person can face trial. Be careful. We may all think that McCall may have done things but he remains innocent until proven guilty and only the courts can do...

Re: Here's a hypothetical

McCall I believe is alive and well. The last info that I got was he was in Thailand but that may have been for a visit. If he is in RSA then he will only be allowed there for a 3 month period at a time which he can extend to 6 months - but you have to leave for 2 weeks (that was the rule back in 200...

Re: Did anyone know?

Interesting - both John Rodgers in his book of 1938 and Martin Stephen (one of this country's most eminent Head Masters) in his book of 2018 state that the reason CH has the worst reputation for physical abuse is because the parents had no way of complaining about it - they were mostly poor or in ha...
