Taxi is Tacsi in Welsh and Teksi in Malay, ice cream in Malay is ais krim. It's amazing how words travel around the world. Seeing Malaysian ais krim, which is perfectly understandable, reminds me of Aply Pay in Panama (Apple Pie), except that you could get Aply Pay de Manzana (Apple "apple&quo...

We had dress shields in the Sunday blouses, tartan in the winter and blue and white striped or blue with white spots in the summer (blouses not dress shields). They were only washed at the end of the season. I was a wardrobe girl in 2's and I don't remember how often things like tunics and Sunday g...

Judy Evans from 6's was about 66/67 I believe.
How did she get to be head twice?

I remember Judy but can't think how far below me she was, if Alex tells me her house number I might remember who had it before her!

Whilst we are on the subject of insect bites. Not sure whether any of the other OG here wore the summer Sunday yellow dresses which were brought in for the quartercentenary; they attracted greenfly. If you were ever out in them you became covered in green spots. They had gone by the time I had star...

Love your story, Alex. DR probably had a good idea how Barnes Wallis would react, so you had your punishment time thinking of the letter, writing it and waiting for a reaction, but there was an end to it when his letter came. I bet you have always been careful since that things you stand on are prop...
