Did we have half terms?
Talking about school holidays the other day and my mum said "you didn't have half terms when you were at CH did you?" Which got me thinking. Did we? I really can't remember The only holidays I remember were the longer ones such as Easter, Xmas, Summer.

Back in my day ( ) the juniors wore yellow socks and seniors wore grey tights. Everyone had to wear yellow socks for "special" occasions as far as I remember.

During my daughters' era there was only one Mary in the school - and she was really Mary-Rose - which seems unusual. Mary was one of my best friends at Hertford. They were sent by post back in 1986 & 1988 when I did O and A levels. Think we must have received the results a day after those who were at local schools. That was back in the day when sending post 1st class actually arrived the next day

I had always assumed that if you were presented then some or all of your fees would be paid for by the person presenting you. I am still not exactly sure why someone who is presented should be guaranteed a place over others if this is not the case? I am glad that I am not the only one who appears to...
