Re: Letter to Head Master

Wurzel - YES, YES, YES

This is exactly what I am suggesting - sorry I can't think of every way of doing things, a bit too much on my plate!

How do I contact them? Is it the board that runs CHOBA?

Help please!

Re: Letter to Head Master

Hi postwarblue Thank you for your reply - you are absolutely right - pre 1967 it would have been a criminal offence if a teacher had known that abuse was being committed and not reported it - this really concerned the Homosexuality laws of the time which were abolished along with a raft of supportin...

Re: Letter to Head Master

Thank you DazedandConfused and Mid A 15 - I think I've got that right! What a lot of people don't understand is that it is far more complicated than it seems. What went on in the 60's, 70's and 80's is a complicated web of intrigue. What went on in the 90's is just - well it's unbelievable - it simp...

A letter from a victim - following letter to HM

Dear All I have just received the following below: 'Rob In haste, as ever, but just wanted to let you know that I had an email yesterday afternoon from Rebecca Wilde informing me that the school had been in touch with her about contacting me and would it be ok for her to pass on my contact details. ...

Re: Poulton, Cairncross, Sillett

Sorry Chaps

I have been slow to come back to this forum.

I have advised Simon Reid that if IICSA do not investigate CH I will petition for an Independent Inquiry but I will need 100,000 signatories.

Working on it.

Rob - if you want to see the letter it's on the site separately to this thread.

Re: Letter to Head Master

The numbers are difficult I have allowed that only 25% of victims of all of the current convicted masters have come forward. The problem that I have is at this point is that I am not allowed to say why as there is an ongoing investigation. I can say that out of the boys in the 1972 photo of Maine A ...

Letter to Head Master

Dear All As promised I have provided my letter to Simon Reid as below - it is long but I make no apologies. I will make just one comment - I just do not understand why they have not appointed a liaison officer for victims and why SR & JD are trying to provide support when their task is to care f...

Re: Roger Martin trial & verdict

Hi All I will be posting my letter to Simon Reid on Monday - I need a bit of time as something has come up from the Martin case. Some of you may not like what I say but it will be polite but also to the point. I ask everyone to please be respectful of others views in these matters. It has been a ver...

Re: Roger Martin trial & verdict

Thank you all It is good to see that perhaps you have decided not to argue so much! I have written a letter to Simon Reid & Chris Steine which I have decided should be put onto the forum site. It is long and directional. For me the question remains - why on earth was it allowed to go on for such...

Re: Roger Martin trial & verdict

Thank you Charles It is and has been quite strenuous for me but I need answers for all. I am starting to get used to it! I have finally finished a letter to the HM Simon Reid & Treasurer and I have decide to upload this with Julian's help. So you will all see what I am saying. Cheers & thank...

Re: Roger Martin trial & verdict

Thank you DazedandConfused I will be posting now as my issue is not with Martin or any of the others, even the person who abused me. My issue is with CH and why it all happened - for now some 35 years according to Martin's evidence but more like 38 years and probably more. I have decided to keep the...

Roger Martin trial & verdict

Hi All I have not been on this site for legal reasons concerning the Burr case. I am able to comment on the Martin Case. I attended the court for the entire trial other than the verdict and sentencing day, last Thursday. I am aware that certain people have posted to this forum assertions that are in...

Re: Bishop Peter Ball and Christ's Hospital

Hi Chaps Eer been out of the loop a bit - Peter Ball originally was a monk of his and his brothers own order, down in Sussex. He became Bishop of Lewis. He was not 'a favourite of the later Bishop of Chichester' although he had been with the previous. He ran a strange institution (with his brother (...

Re: Ernest McCall- Maths teacher / housemaster Maine A

Hi Chaps He was Richard Edward McCall. Ernie was his adopted name, by him. He was Second Housemaster in Mid A during my time (1972 - 1976). A bit odd and he drank a lot, AN AWFUL LOT. There were some issues with him but he was, to be frank, rather useless both as a teacher in my time and within the ...

Re: HUSBAND APPEAL ??

I said it is the best legal system and I will stick by that and whilst Scotland and Northern Ireland has separate legal systems they are close to or replicate that of England, Wales, The Channel Islands and the Isle of Man as well as Gibralter and other 'Protectorates'. It is by no means a perfect s...
