Re: RIP Sir Colin Davis
Sir Colin Davis presented the prizes at end of term Hertford prizegiving Summer 1969, I remember as I actually received a prize for progress and as a 13year old, was quite in awe of going up and collecting it from him. It was The Complete Works of Shakespeare, still on our bookshelf today!

Re: Punishments at CH
That's very nice of you - thanks! Having been a cherished child at home, it was a bit of a shock to be at CH and to be always in trouble. It was OK in a Junior House at first maybe, because even as 11 year olds, we all could see that our Housemistress Miss Miles (Millie) was crazed in various ways, ...

Re: Punishments at CH
How miserable for you to go through all that Angela. I could never bear to dish out any puinishments when I was a senior, I thought it was very cruel, and who were we but mere pupils, just a few years older than juniors? Punishment , I believe then and now-is the job of school staff to administer. P...

Any proud moments at Hertford?
I am/was not a very sporty person, but my proudest sport moment at Hertford was when I scored 3 goals in netball. Somehow I got picked for the 4B form team :o for position of goal shoot. We were playing a strong team from 5B,firm favourites to win. I scored my hat trick when we were 1-5 down. We sti...

Re: Proud Father
I live in the same area as Neill and there has been no notices in the local paper which I think there would have been, as he is a councillor and he has written to the Editor on the letters page, but not for months. As anniexf says, a letter addressed to Anne would be the best idea.

Re: Charles Hazelwood : Paraorchestra
Yes he is so inspirational to get this special orchestra together-wonder if we will hear any more about them or was it a one off for the Paralympics?

Re: Did we have half terms?
No halfterms, only had one long sat 10am-7pm, once a term, but we were allowed to be taken out on other Saturdays for a shorter time-I think. Probably it was limited to 2 a term max, can't really remember. Those of us who lived a long distance from the school only got the one visit a term, unless th...
