Re: Freemasons and questions to answer
I can’t think who else taught Maths- Sprosen, O’Boyle and a very young teacher who can’t have been more than about 23? To say he had crowd control problems would be putting it mildly.

Re: CH videos
Does anyone remember a rather random lunchtime marching where we were surrounded by models on roller skates for (what I believe was) a fashion magazine photo shoot? It was surreal I almost thought I’d dreamt it but speaking to my OB friends they remember it too. I would love to know if anyone ever s...

Re: Housey Rap, recent convictions
Crud has been mentioned in other threads on this forum. Mr McCall. A third person (Pattison)(sp?) is mentioned as being good friends with the "enough said" duo. Of course, there was still a lot of homophobia in the 80s/90s that often involved conflating homosexuality and paedophilia. Perh...

Re: CH videos
Wow. Watching those makes me feel 12 years old again.
YouTube helpfully suggested I may wish to watch this video too, Dobbie leading the 1988 Rememberance Day service

Re: How far did the rot spread?
My own take is that what has got a lot of OBs worked up is: (i) many of us realise it could have been us; and (ii) we know that although it wasn't us, it was probably people who we were friends with at school. If we all feel like that, what must parents think who actually made the decision to send ...

Re: What was the attraction?
During my time many (most?) staff also owned properties in nearby towns that were rented out so they were on the property ladder whilst enjoying CH accommodation, which made sense.

Re: House structure
A cheap shot at Mason too- or were the lyrics referring to masons plural?

Re: House structure
I would hold APFA up as one of the individuals of significant integrity at CH in my era. A bit hidebound but I think he had values and standards that were shockingly remiss in others ostensibly senior to him. I was very, very peripherally involved in the Housey Rap, such that I didn’t know the lyri...

Re: House structure
He left that year I think. I knew the lyrics of the Housey Rap well (I believe I still have a cassette tape copy somewhere) but I hadn’t realised he was a literal w****r. Well, my only source for this is the Housey Rap, which I imagine is referring to his personality rather than his habits. On the ...

Re: House structure
I believe LHA became a girls house in 1992, possibly 1993. Mid B became a senior boys house at the same time I think, with the existing Junior boys dispersed around the rest of the school. The newer Grecians houses were after my time. Reading about Hammer after so many years has bought back vivid me...

Re: Management knowledge of the Husband/Dobbie cases
In those days nasty behaviour was normalised. I hope the arrival of the girls has made it a kinder place and such behaviour is no longer accepted. I fear not, or at least not in the early 90s. Teenage girls can be particularly vile to each other and the bullying was both physical and verbal. Perhap...
