Music lessons are indeed about to change, but the details of how are as yet unknown. Currently you don't pay if; you do GSCE/AS/A2 Music . You may study two instruments free at GSCE, and three at the AS/A2 level. you have reached Grade V or above in your instrument. I don't know about means tested f...

To all and sundry... You may well be interested to know the public version of CH's finances at the moment... £270m in assets..... half that in commercial property apparently. this includes a theme park in scotland, and a bingo hall in the midlands. Our portfolio has apparently increased by £70m in...

So the refurbs that cost millions and put lots of doors in strange places are falling apart? Teenage lads discovered quickly that the fob doors which mark the entry to every dorm can be modified. Sellotape over the magnetic contacts will make it easier to 'rip'. Ripping refers to the pulling of the...

I say.

However, our year is quite bad for working - complacency! We do however, work when needed. Possibly not the best work ethic ever.

The real world beckons.

Perhaps the abolition of Junior and Senior Houses has had an effect here. When we were juniors we generally avoided confrontation with seniors, let alone Grecians. This is indeed what many of my year complain about. They endured the change on their 3rd form, when they must have looked forward to be...

Don't you get some government incentive for studying A Levels nowadays? £30 quid a week if your parent(s) are below a certain level of income. Whilst we receive money, it is not a particularly well thought out idea. I suspect we would be perfectly well off without it. Getting into uni would be eas...

Her daughter was in 3's and one of only 2 non-foundationers I knew, are there many now?
There are substantial numbers of non-f's today. At least 6 in current Grecians. About 30 in whole school.

The unfortunate repercussions of the anti-bullying code (which I definitely believe is essential), is that juniors feel overly confident. There is no respect for a senior who makes a reasonable request, and this affects the seniors as a whole, who feel as if they are undervalued. This, I reckon, has...

There is very little privilege with regards to the -haha- Grecians- path anymore. It is the walkway of Deps and Grecians, of which the former are the primary source of erosion upon that beautifully tarmac'd path. Even the UF and GE may be found on it, and nary a word is said. I have seen 3rd form us...

It's a Good Thing In Principle!

I do not disagree with the sheer ridiculousness of the Gov. paying us to attend school. It is a bribe, and yes it is merely to 'up our education quotient', so the govt. isnt lumbered with excessive problems when the current baby boomers and their children reach retirement. There is of course a curre...

There is indeed a slack in spend

CH as we know has assets totalling somewhere in the region of £240m. However, this is much reduced from previous levels, and many measures are currently underway, namely; Students must provide most of their own paper Bread and milk supplies in house are also much reduced. I think the heating is sli...
