Re: Are we alone?

In our House the girls are always encouraged to turn off their lights and other electricals when they leave their rooms. They get points deducted from their dorm scores if they don't! :axe: Every little helps!

Re: Are Blackberrys allowed in Christ's Hospital?

Re: GCSE options

Another parent has kindly sent me a PM suggesting some charities which we can approach for help, so we'll be trying this next. But realistically, if we have to move our youngest it would be better to do so soon rather...

Re: GCSE options

In that case would someone please be kind enough to explain it to those without a pack coming in the post, so that we know what has changed? The school has consulted some top universities before making this decision who say 8 good GCSE's are ample. CH pupils will now be doing Maths, 2x English, Sci...

Re: Helpful Tips for New Parents please!!!

If you're looking for iron-on name labels (not suitable for sports kit, bedding etc, but okay for civvies) they are £1.75 for 50 on ebay (+99p postage). As a matron, as well as a parent, I would really recommend keeping to the sew-on labels, even for civvies. The iron-on variety don't survive the ...

Re: Transport to and from CH

Would you like me to ask at the school office whether a note asking if any parents would be interested could be sent out with the end of term mailings?

Re: Helpful Tips for New Parents please!!!

As well as the set P.E lessons the children also have compulsory 'Actives' every afternoon, which tend to be sport related, so they do need quite a bit of kit even if they're not really sporty. As a general rule most children have some sort of sport every day, so as you can imagine they get fairly m...

Re: Transport to and from CH

Hi, In regards to going home at leave weekends it is thought quite importany that the kids have time away from school and 'off campus' in order to have a proper rest and recharge batteries , this is why they are all encouraged to find a relative/friend to stay with if unable to go home. They only ha...
