Re: Management knowledge of the Husband/Dobbie cases
As for Dobbie, I was extremely naive at the time and had no idea at all. In retrospect it seems obvious - especially with his close relationship with the Ball brothers etc. It also makes me wonder about one person in my year, who I was at primary school with, who was being 'counselled' by him, went...

Re: Identification.
Going back to my nearly serious list of what the proposed ID card would have included, there is now a proposal that unless you formally opt out then on death your body will be unceremoniously hacked to bits, those bits being shoved in some unfortunate's body so they can cavort for many extra years....

Re: Management knowledge of the Husband/Dobbie cases
Update. I have now heard from IICSA as per below: "The Inquiry has recently published an update note on the residential schools investigation. Phase one of this investigation will focus on a selection of specific special and music schools, as well as producing a narrative on eight closed reside...

Re: Management knowledge of the Husband/Dobbie cases
Just a thought...but has there been any discussion as to whether CH ought to be included in the Residential Schools investigation as part of the Independent Inquiry Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) ? I emailed IICSA on 13.8.2018 with this very question. Over 3 months later I am yet to receive a response ...

Sorry for not responding to all of this sooner (almost wish that I hadn't asked the question). My Address to the Council is on the 2nd November so have been concentrating on that, but... whether people like it or not, the abuse continued under Baker and Hansford. I am concerned about the punishment...

Re: Wikipedia Entry?
Nothing to stop anyone fleshing out the lone sentence and adding in some more info. I see Ampleforth's wiki page has 4 paragraphs.
Rather disappointed that CH doesn't have an Uncyclopedia page. Eton's is quite good:

Re: Resignation of Baker and emergency appointment of Hansford
I think we’ll have to agree to disagree about the meaning of the phrase The Other Place, I’ve always understood it to be slightly derogatory, but perhaps that’s biased by being an Oxford graduate where it was derogatory about Cambridge. Anyone familiar with the film Withnail & I will know that ...

If you mean this then it appears there was some sort of hearing on 4 September but I can find no further info beyond that:

Re: All this is incredibly sad
The houses are visited on a random basis by an SLT member on virtually every night of the week. It's reassuring to know that this happens now, but it certainly was not happening as recently as the early-mid 1990's. Poulton visited Maine B once while I was there, the only time I ever spoke to him, a...

Re: Can we get transcripts?
Auscript appear to be the company to approach but a transcript for even just a couple of hours is likely to set you back a few hundred pounds. If the school sent its own legal representative to each of the trials then they may have had transcripts made to refer back to. But good luck getting them to...
