Would that be a similar "breakdown" to the one Peter Webb suffered from?

Re: Here's a hypothetical
I entered Maine A in September 1992 by which time thankfully Dr Stuart was housemaster. Whilst it may be of little comfort to Ash, the behaviour he describes was, to the best of my knowledge, no longer occurring. Dr Stuart was a great housemaster - very laid back, funny and approachable. It now seem...

Re: Dobbie sentencing hearing
Shocked at how low the sentence is. Less than a year per offence.

Re: Lousey magazine
Doesn't work for me. Is this the original version from 1995 or the later revival?

Re: Dobbie sentencing hearing
Now showing as having started at 14.01 in Court 1 @ Hove. The school has had someone in attendance at most of the hearings and the Old Blue page on the CH website has usually been first with any information so my advice would be to check there first: https://www.christs-hospital.org.uk/old-blues/old...

Re: Trial of Gary William Dobbie
The point here is that Shrewsbury school had suspended Dobbie and they wouldn't have done so without knowing the reasons for his arrest. The newsletter could simply have said "He's been arrested but we can't comment further as investigations are still ongoing. He won't be returning as a teacher...

Re: Trial of Gary William Dobbie
Going back to Marty's quotations from Shrewesbury school: Presumably the first "I was saddened......" was when Dobie had not yet been convicted and honoured the concept of "Innocent until proven guilty" whereas the second quote that he hd actually been suspended before (presumab...

Re: Trial of Gary William Dobbie
Shrewsbury suspended him immediately. Well that's not exactly how the headmaster of Shrewsbury School reported it in September 2016... https://www.shrewsbury.org.uk/sites/default/files/uploads/files/welcome/HMsLetterToParents_Sep2016.pdf "I was saddened in the holidays to hear that our Chaplai...

Re: Poulton, Cairncross, Sillett
Having thought about the above, my own view is that the best course of action would be for CH to be included in the so-called "phase 2" of IICSA's investigation into residential schools. I wrote to IICSA (twice) last year and their response to me is below. I would encourage anyone who feel...

Re: Trial of Gary William Dobbie
He was definitely at Whites when I started in 89. Makes me shudder to think about the times I went round there alone. I now wonder how many of us had a lucky escape & thoughts are with his victims. My recollection (which let's face it dims further with each passing day so apologies if this is in...

A definite shift in tone in the letter from previous communications. At last. It would appear so. I would think the school h...
