Re: Freemasons and questions to answer

Also - Poulton/Cairncross were likely telling the truth when they said Karim was treated leniently because he was an OB; a fraternity/sorority to which we all belong. There are many powerful cliques in Britain that promote &/or support each other, Etonians in Westminster and the City, Oxford gra...

Re: Freemasons and questions to answer Post by Jim Rayner » Sat Jul 21, 2018 7:34 pm I would have thought (and hoped) that the gradual process of women being able to compete on equal terms in traditionally male-dominated spheres would have diluted the power of freemasonry. After all the President o...

Re: How far did the rot spread?

Websters lists one definition as: the concealment of a treason or felony and failure to report it to the prosecuting authorities by a person who has not committed it. Compulsive behaviors like child abuse, where there is a high probability of the perpetrator repeating, need to be reported to help pr...

Re: How far did the rot spread?

That is good Richard. I would like to see misprision of child abuse become a specific crime but I think we can be confident that CH has learned a lesson. Now the issue is if Reid can be trusted to administer these new standards and impress on the school staff that there will be zero tolerance, no se...

There used to be a few CH lodges with names like Votum etc., that had sections in The Blue or at least contact info. - ttbomr.
Also, I remember being told that Dr. Scott was big in mason world and he was also an OB.

Re: How far did the rot spread?

Current and future parents should be reassured.
We are not talking about a statistical recurrence of random events.
The school could have prevented most of these crimes and handled them appropriately, but decided not to.
Reid will have learned the lessons and CH will be far safer.

Re: How far did the rot spread? Post by DickT_PeB » Thu Jul 19, 2018 8:53 am ... There must be so many parents and guardians who sent their children to CH during the period reading media reports with absolute shock, horror and, I would imagine, growing fury. According to some people on here, parent...

suitably compensated without protracted legal proceedings and on a no fault basis
Absolutely right. No fault is important. The victim in Husband's case should not be subjected to any further ordeal by a lawyer seeking to reduce compensation.

Re: "Petition 2018" to Council for a "Truth & Reconciliation Inquiry"

Truth and reconciliation is a process between the victims and their oppressors. The only party that will engage with the victims in reconciliation is the school. It is unlikely that any of the perpetrators will cooperate - in any case they are being punished and will not be granted amnesty for their...
