More recently, films were usually brought in by pupils etc and watched in the various dayrooms (VHS, DVD's, etc). There were also occasional school film nights organised in the theatre (usually on the rather large projector screen, with either the now very old theatre projector or one borrowed from,...

CH photos - April 2005

I took a bunch of photos in April 2005 when I went back to visit for personal reasons, and I've finally got round to getting some webspace, uploading them etc. Apologies for the awful focussing in some of them, it was my second day with my new camera and I didn't know all its quirks :( Anyway, http:...

As far as I remember (I might be wrong), they do have a courtyard in the middle of the house which they could use if gated etc. Might be wrong though.

As said above, I remember it being used for Carol Concerts and not much more - some people might practice on it occasionally, but I do remember one of the more recent organists complaining about the acoustics.

If that's the rail line I'm thinking of, then yes, it's been closed for a very long time. I think it used to run past the school, as you look from the back of Big School onto big side, on the far right hand side. It was mostly used as a slightly-hidden path for people on bikes to go and get booze - ...

... Allo allo, another person who was there nearer to when I was. Are those towers still working? I would've imagined they might've broken down or something... Anyway, Funky Dunky... He was a big man, in many ways, and I was one of the people who loved him (no, not that way). My first experience wa...

I'm not familiar with much of the inner workings of the Masterplan, but, while it did seem like a very good idea and a good remake of the school's image, I also can't understand where all the money went. Then again (and I'm no architect / structural engineer) the CH Horsham buildings are quite old, ...

I know absolutely nothing about that or anything related to it. At all. It would be outrageous, I'm sure you'll agree.

I think I know who you mean and I might agree, though I haven't had a confession yet. I still somehow suspect you though :P

How did you get in trouble?

That is, if you want to say it. I'm sure there are very interesting stories to be heard, so sorry to start with one of the most boring. I was probably one of the least-troublesome people in my year (read: boring, maybe), yet I (and four other people) somehow got accused of hacking the Head's email a...

Hahah, I never heard about it... Then again, I wasn't exactly gossip central. But no, there wasn't really much of a problem with this kind of stuff, as long as it wasn't in-your-face. And as far as I can remember, it usually got confiscated and you might even have a telling-off from someone, but not...

By the time I got there, numbers were slightly more equal (that really doesn't make sense..), and it was all quite normal. Plenty of people "sneaking around" as you'd expect (myself included, on a few very rare occasions), although obviously some still got caught and dealt with accordingly...

Let's see... I'll probably miss a lot of them out, and I can only clearly remember a few: one of the lead caterers left because they enjoyed underage "adult material", several sex stories between pupils meant that some were suspended and I think only very few left, a few other teachers lef...

I don't think you can make that much money from CH items unless you're selling them to someone who knows what they're about. I still regret not trying to keep my (Buttons) Coat :(

I only started at CH on my LE ('97), and by that time the tube was quite solidly divided. I seem to remember we were allowed to store suitcases down there, but that was about it. There were some side-rooms, but there wasn't anything interesting in them. Aside from that, just the relevant plant equip...
