This is a standard way of hiding the addresses of the people who the email has been sent to.
i.e. that email may have gone to 20 people in one go, but the CHA office obviously won't want to share your email address with the other 19 people.

Hence, the "To:" box is zm@chri...
and then the 20 recipient addresses are but in the "BCC:" box (not usually visible by default in Outlook, but can be accessed by click on the "To:" box. The "BCC" box "blind copies" the email to those 20 people.

Thus, Zoe's email account simply receives one copy of the email, which is then blind-copied to the 20 recipients.

Julian,
If other people could learn to explain complex computer matters so clearly and succinctly the world would be a far happier place. Many thanks - "alles klar" as Pongo Littelfield taught us to say.
 plus :D

Thanks for this Julian, I had not thought of it, but have used BCC. Now to see whether I can persuade mydear hysband to do it, he is bad at broadcasting all addresses.

I have double-checked, and as far as I can tell, haven't received a Newsletter by e-mail for over eight weeks !

I know the Office has my e-mail address.

Here's the August newsletter (forwarded to me by a fellow Old Blue) for those who, like me, did not receive it :-

CHA News – August 2007
Welcome to the August edition of the CHA newsletter, keeping you in touch with all the latest news from the CHA, your fellow Old Blues and the School. The summer term is now over, but we are already looking forward to the September and the many great events ahead for the autumn term.

Beating Retreat
A rare day of sunshine for the last day of term meant that Beating Retreat was once more a great success, and many young Old Blues went on to the old CH favourite, The Bax Castle, to renew acquaintances and enjoy the lovely weather. Visit the CHA website to view the Events Gallery for Beating Retreat and see if you can spot anyone you know in the photographs of Old Blues at the Bax.

New Clerk of Christ’s Hospital
Just in case you missed the announcement at the beginning of July, the new Clerk of Christ’s Hospital has been named as Paul Tuckwell.

You can find out all about Paul and his plans for the future by visiting the CHA website at:
http://www.chassociation.org/news/newsa ... NewsId=351

Upcoming Autumn Events
Check out the full programme of CHA events, including the Coleridge A and B reunion, a CCF inspection for serving Old Blues, Founder’s Day Dinner and the late Summer Ball at CH via the CHA website at:
http://www.chassociation.org/events/index.php

To keep you in touch with upcoming arts events at the school, including the programme for Tuesday lunchtime concerts in the Court Room, you can also download the Christ’s Hospital Performing Arts brochure at:
http://www.chassociation.org/events/artscalendar.php

Richard March (PeA 45 – 51)
Richard March (PeA 45-51), who was the former secretary of the Founder’s Day Dinner, and a very well known and well loved Old Blue, died in a tragic accident in his home on 29th June this year. A full obituary will feature in a future edition of the Old Blue.

Memorial Evensong for Miss D R West
As previously mentioned in this newsletter, the memorial will take place on Sunday 16th September 2007 in the Chapel at Christ’s Hospital.

If you attended school during the 30 years Miss West worked at the school, you should have already received, or should soon receive your invitation to the service. If you have not received an invitation for the memorial, or are an Old Blue and wish to pay your respects, you are still very welcome at the memorial and can find all the details and your copy of the invitation on the CHA website at:

This will be my last CHA newsletter, as I am now moving on to a new role in the commercial sector. I have enjoyed getting to know you all, and learning more about the world of Christ’s Hospital and the lives of Old Blues. I wish you all the very best in the future and leave you in the very capable hands of Sam Rider and Wendy Killner.

Warmest regards,

Zoë

I could not resist a reply to all the queries on the forum which sometimes can be really negative and dangerous when people just assume !!.
My holiday was booked many weeks ago, long before Zoe's leaving date and it is the first break I have had since Christmas. I actually came in for the first three days of my holiday to send you all the August Newsletter. This has to be set up to send out 30 at a time at a space of 15 min intervals so as you can appreciate it takes a considerable amount of time. Despite asking many times for a more professional way of sending out the newsletter I am still waiting for someone at CH to find a better way to do this. Zoe and I have done our best to make sure that you receive this monthly newsletter and I hope to be able to continue with this. Sam Rider is proof reading the Old Blue so it should be too long before you receive this. All information for Founders Day, Miss West's Memorial Service, the Coleridge Reunion and the Military event for serving Old Blues has been sent out. The CHA will not fall apart because there is no one in the office and on my return on the 15th August I will do my best to make sure nearly normal service is resumed. I really enjoyed working with Zoe and we made a good team. I wish her all the best in her new job and I am sure we will keep in touch. I hope you all enjoy your summer holidays and I will get round to answering all your queries on my return.
