IP number blacklisted

Post by michael scuffil »

Why is my IP number suddenly blacklisted (but only for this site)?

(I have engaged a different router to write this.)

Michael.

I can't see any reason for this. Sounds like a service provider problem. Julian is really the chap to contact.

Glad it’s sorted. Can be a temporary thing if a password is entered wrongly too many times - it blocks you for an ever-I creasing period each time. If that’s not what’s happened then I’m not sure - if it happens again, let me know and I can take a look at the logs.

I get this all the time. Sometimes when I'm on a government computer I am unable to post, but not always, and when I try and post from home using a VPN the same happens, but again only sometimes. It's a bit irritating to say the least. I've turned the VPN off to post this but I prefer to leave it on for security reasons.

Another query for Julian I'm afraid.

There’s nothing specific which should block a VPN IP address, unless it’s been used maliciously or inadvertently to try to gain access.

I use a VPN myself almost all the time, and have never seen an issue......

It may be that some of the government sites are blocking chat rooms and forum access themselves??
