Old Blues Day 2011

Post by NEILL THE NOTORIOUS »

I can't find this Topic anywhere, at the moment so ----

I am looking forward to this year's OB Day, as last year, was on the last day of Term, and seemed full of scaffolding --- or was that Founder's Dinner ?
You see that Senility strikes ! -- (83 April 3rd !)

Having been away for a fortnight (Cheers from the Gallery !) viewing the Northern Lights -- Can't spell Auroura Borealis ! -- which was spectacular, in the Arctic Circle at Alta, but always a gamble. I am now catching up on less spectacular sights, and announce that (DV) I shall be there, clad, as usual, in red Carnation and Guard's Tie.

I would love to have a chat with some of the younger OBs who may use this Forum, some come up and introduce yourself --- I don't bite !

(Although I MAY be participating in the Debate -- "It was better in my time " --- which should be fascinating !)

What say you ?

I don't get it.

What are Bloes?

Is this some sort of ultra-witty play-on-words that's going right over my head?

Or is it an in-joke that the likes of me simply doesn't get?

Or did you mean to write "Old Blokes' Day 2011"?

I'm confused.

Whatever it is, am I invited?

I'm afraid your invitation has just been withdrawn, due to your distressing dietary habits.

Please note that Old Blues Day (which includes Old Bloes Day, Neill!) will include unveiling of a new plaque on the War memorial(ten new names) and the launch of a new book "Freedon We Died For You" - see "New Book" thread on this forum.

In Nepal the dogs are trained to clear up after toddlers; I saw one dog wrinkling up its nose as it did its duty.

You see the disadvantages of a good Education !!

It would appear that Bob Finch and myself, are leading the Debate on "It was better in My Day"

Both from Barnes ---- but of course it may have been different, from the other end of the Avenue ------ "Where Angels fear to tread"

Coming to the Debate, will enable you to be rude to me, in person !

Thanks to DBS I am goingto OBD for the first time in years - in fact I think I have only been once since I left. The year after I left so 1989!!! The last time I actually went back to CH must be at least 12 years ago now.......
