As far as I remember, the first verse went something like this. Apologies for incorrect latin spelling. Can anyone fill in the gaps ??

May not be perfect but not bad 27 years after leaving CH !!

Tried to sing it with Roff Rayner (Col B 39-47 ish) then Cornwall's Secretary for Education. We were on one of the old Uganda educational cruises about 35 years ago and found ourselves together at the top of the lLeaning Tower of Pisa, no less. It seemed appropriate at thetime to give a lusty rendering of the Votum, but I have to say that our combined memories served us little better then and it quickly petered out in a rather pathetic manner.

However, I think I can still render the Foundation hymn in full! Of course, the language is somewhat more accessible.

NB It was Roff Rayner and myself who brought Lib Dem success to Cornwall this year. (See earlier posting)

But you must not cheat and look at it before you have cudgeled your memory cells on here! Who can get furthest with remembering our school song? I think we have a right to know! .... and I am sure that Julian would be prepared to offer a small prize - say a kiff bowl full of Housey Ale - for the best effort on the forum. After all, it is our very own school song.

What makes you think I regularly talk to my wife about CH? She has been there once on a visit and was sufficiently impressed that she is willing to contemplate CH for our daughter's education. As a routine subject of conversation, however, it probably comes up about once or twice a year, and probably only then because my recently acquired step-siblings are both Old Blues. I appreciate the benefits that I gained from a Housey education and genuinely enjoyed my time there. I also enjoy contributing to this website but surely schooldays are but one aspect of life - soon over and never more than a stepping-stone to better things?

Actually, Loringa's right. Schooldays aren't a regular topic of conversation, and I'm sure the funny looks WOULD start if my wife found me wandering around singing songs in Latin......
